It was a shoulder straight to the head, a clear major in the WJC, and I say this as a Canadian. Refs got the call right.

I don’t think Schneider was trying for a headshot, but certainly wasn’t trying to avoid the head either.

There was no upwards momentum to the hit though and I think you are over looking that. The key factor is the height difference of the two players or that is a shoulder on shoulder hit.
