GDT: Germany v. Canada 23h30 UTC

A little of column A, a little of column B. We don't coach goalies enough, and young enough, and there are only several dozen major junior goaltending spots - having a bunch of Europeans taking those spots means that Canadians aren't getting those chances.

It seems like the issue is already baked into the system long before someone comes from outside of Canada to play in the CHL.

Team Germany is a bit overwhelmed, but that was to be expected. Hopefully they can come out of it reasonably well.

Good effort, came out flying and were heavy on the forecheck that period.

Night and day better than how they played against the Czechs.

They need to keep playing just like this. Wave after wave, north-south hockey.

Bedard was dazzling, best player on the ice by a wide margin.

3-1

Sublime! That German D just watching helplessly. Canada at 16 shots and 3 goals, 1 disallowed goal after 18 minutes. This German squad is well coached and structured. It's damn impressive.

Canada has way to much skill so they can outplay the structure, but against the lesser skilled teams we are very hard to beat despite the lack of individual quality. German hockey took a big step forward in this regard.

Like I said: a little of column A, a little of column B. Better early coaching is needed for sure, but for the goalies that bloom a little later, getting shut of opportunities for starts against high-quality shooters will hamper their development too.

Big time! I know because you keep beating the Czechs!lol 3 in a row.

Jesus, can you imagine if the habs somehow manage to get bedard and him and Roy play together and just carryover this chemistry

And get Pierre Luc Dubois from Winnipeg for nothing... ? :sarcasm:

As a Winnipeg Jets fan... I say anything is possible...

It doesn't mean the rest of the hockey World cares in a WJC game thread...

Here here AGGY!:thumbu:

Are you lost... ?

:sarcasm:

Welcome to the land of the lost B'B'...

Lol the habs aren’t exactly World beaters right now, let me have this

Guess we're going to have another tourney where every TSN interview of a Canadian player is contractually obligated to include a question on their teammate Connor Bedard

I hear what you're saying... but if you asked me what the story of that first period was, I would answer Connor Bedard.

Hope Milic can put together a strong game the rest of the way. Nitpicking, but that Germany goal was a weak one, especially on the heels of Gaudreau's performance the other night.

Canada's going to need better goaltending than that against the tougher foes.

They should just respond with “ He sucks and some team is going to waist a 1st overall pick on this clown”. Then sit back and watch the confusion set in on the reporters face :D
