GDT: Germany v. Canada 23h30 UTC

Team of individuals not playing like a team and instead looking to make the hero play. Fantilli had so many better options there than firing it into a leg to cause it to go the other way.
Too many players on Team Canada have spent too much time playing EA Sports NHL-series games on their Playstations.

This is what Canada gets in goal when we spend all the time and Energy Developing European goalies in our Junior leagues and not our own goaltenders

Is it a lack of high level junior opportunity that is holding back Canadian goaltending or is it the cost of it both in terms of equipment and the constant schools/camps?

Pretty obvious that this CAN team has all the skill in the world but they have 0 discipline with the puck. Wont matter in this one because my german team doesnt have the talent but that wont win you the tournament

It is the lack of being able to execute "The Michigan" that prevents Canadian kids from becoming goaltenders.

"The Michigan" creates more likes on Instagram and Tiktok than making a save does.

Much better intensity and physicality from Canada this game.

This is more how they need to play. North-south physical non-stop attacking game.

Eventually the forecheck pressure will lead to winning races to the puck and sustained offensive zone time.

Roy has so much grit near the goal. Canada needs his style against tougher opponents. And... Bedards brilliance of course.

Bad goalie but wingers collapsed way too deep there, doesn’t help no brain Fantilli was on the other side he was supposed to be on and covering nobody. All tools, no toolbox

You are not wrong...

In general so far this group of Canadian kids are very slow to close the gaps as the spaces change... aka poor team defense...

the crazy thing is it's the American's that made that move popular.

I don't think the Michigan is the goaltending issue. The issue is that no body wants to be blamed for losses as a young kid. If your youth team loses, everyone blames the goalie.
