How funny?! A year or so ago we were bragging about the quality of our tending pen. Seems it’s not only high draft picks that come to MSG to “die”……

I do think Georgiev is talented. The thing is he needs to play more. He had a nice little run in Hartford, got brought up. And has been playing sporadically for the past three years. He hasn’t had any development. Another guy rushed and wasted. Now he’s a mess.

This guy is going to be non-tendered next summer. Everyone should take a deep breath and realize that.
We have a whole season to watch though, they should've moved on from this guy over the summer.

I think Allaire has a blindspot when it comes to Georgiev because all we've ever heard about is how much Benny likes him, Vally mentions it all the time.

Guys... ADA had gotten talked to by teammates and coaches multiple times, and had gotten a final warning from the GM himself. THEN he got in a physical altercation with a teammate.

Can we please stop saying that Georgiev was somehow the reason he got traded and that we chose one over the other. That's obviously not what happened.

A physical altercation that he didn't throw the first punch in. They both should have gone. But, Quinn didn't like ADA so he cried enough to Groton and Groton was tired of hearing him cry about it so when Geo hit ADA he pinned it all on ADA. FYI: ADA gets the last laugh. His career is flourishing in Carolina while Quinn and Groton remain unemployed and Geo shits the bed night after night in goal for the Rangers.

Yeah I don't know why people pretend to not know this, it's been so well-documented it's impossible to be ignorant to it at this point.

Georgiev should have been traded but not because of the altercation. Teammates get into it all the time. I mean maybe not throwing punches in the tunnel, but things get heated and guys push each other and all that shit. Throwing a punch when you're having words, that by itself wouldn't be enough to warrant moving a guy IMO. Unless it was a sucker punch or something like when that Jets dude cold-cocked Geno Smith. Anyway, as you stated, DeAngelo was basically on probation and that episode was a probation violation and he was done. Georgiev may be disliked but it doesn't sound like he has been a problem outside of that incident.

Geo is still just as much employed as ADA is. Good for ADA that things finally may have started to click after going through however many organizations, but he wasn't exactly trying to avoid unnecessary confrontations in his time here. NYR are doing just fine without him, and he's doing just fine with NYR.

Fox probably doesn't win a Norris if ADA was still here (at best they would've split PP time). As good as he's been there's not really any room for him on this team with Jones waiting in the wings

Agreed. Georgiev sucking and ADA's personality resulting in season-long ban from the league exist in two seperate, equally depressing spheres.

If Georgiev never existed, ADA was going to get himself in trouble. And those choices, which were almost inevitable last season, were going to turn up the minute anyone did some research before acquiring him.

Because that research is why no one was willing to take a flyer on him last season. Because it showed that with or without Georgiev, the dude has some serious self-reflecting to do.

do some folks really think this is meaningful in any way?

I don't know. We've all heard the rumors that Georgiev isn't particularly popular in the locker room, that he wants out, etc. When you see things like that--where everyone else, to a man, seems genuinely happy to greet and congratulate Shesterkin except for Georgiev who looks like he'd rather be anywhere else--it feels like in a small way it reinforces all those things you've heard. So, no, that video in a vacuum isn't problematic in any way, but I do think it's maybe reflective of where Georgiev is at, both in his own head and with his teammates.
