Statistically speaking georgiev is the 2nd worst goalie in the entire league by gsaa per game... Hutton is worse.

That's brutal.

Igor is 2nd best btw.
It’s impressive that it only took 2 of his 3 starts to achieve that

what a bum

i have not disliked a Ranger as much as him in my life

Last night, his positioning was actually not terrible, but he coughed up WAY too many rebounds. Dudes got butterfingers.

Gallant would have loved the shit out of DeAngelo, and known how to work with him.
Eh… I don’t think we sacrificed DeAngelo for Georgie. Apparently, Tony D was already on thin ice before they fought.

Not only is Georgiev a bad goalie who cost us DeAngrlo his actions also forced us to pay Fox more on his new deal by driving up his point totals due to PP1 usage with Tony off the team
Wtf is this post. Having a Norris winner being spun as a negative lol?

They really should have traded him a couple years ago. I said it at the time. The thing with backup goalies, particularly those playing sparingly behind clear #1 goalies, is they play sparingly and a few bad games can really destroy their numbers. And goalies really need to play to stay in a rhythm, but when you suck like Georgiev why would you get starts? It's like a catch-22.

Anyway, not sure how much value he has.

Probably none. Why pay a guy 2+ million to suck when you can pay a journeyman whose at least good in the room and knows his role league minimum to suck.

Lmao he really is a weirdo, if you look through their social media interactions or even just watch them gathering after a game and talking to each other; no one ever talks to him. Even the fellow Russians never did. DeAngelo who everyone calls a cancer gets invited to weddings, was always seen laughing with other players and hangs out with them outside of hockey. Even Kravtsov who they say doesn't get on well with the team, he was more part of the team than Georgiev and even with non-Russians, he would hang out with Miller and go surfing together. He took several selfies with him and they commented on each others IG posts, even Krav and Tony would comment on each others posts joking around even though they were barely ever even on the team at the same time. Georgiev is a freak, hands down my least favorite Ranger of all time and I think many would agree.
He’s our Dougie Hamilton

Boy this place loves scapegoating and piling on.
Georgie was no worse than most of the skaters,
The Oil top talent had NYR pinned in D-zone and chasing pucks for so many long shifts.
I dont believe this loss was as much his fault as many folks here have written

The loss wasn't all on him. But he played like shit, like he normally does.

Worse decision: choosing Georgiev over Hank, Hajek over Kravtsov, or Goodrow over Buchnevich?

The last one if we could have signed Buch to that amount. Georgiev wasn't as bad as he is now at the time and Hank's career was over and we had no idea that Kravtsov would throw a hissy fit.

Who has more points? Buch or Goodrow? The answer might surprise you. Option 2 isn't a thing, so, yeah, I'll go with option 1. Didn't like the Buch trade, but at some point you need players with some pedigree and Cup wins.
