They're worse. Staal and Girardi played significant minutes. Columbus' "top guys" scored almost every shift against those two.

Imagine when they're actually top guys and not Boone Jenner.

Trocheck is completely devoid of offensive instincts and skills. But don't let results cloud your judgment. The guy nearly lead all Rangers forwards in ice time for the second straight game and the Rangers couldn't buy a legal goal.

He’s awesome. I know he gets shit because he’s a but if a wild card sometimes but he’s f***ing dirty. What an upgrade over the guys eve seen the last couple seasons.

We were a bit toothless. Too much dump and chase and get puck on nets but they had bodies in front too, 4 of them constantly and good sticks in the lanes. If you don't get bounces it looks like this. A bit more quality and control would have helped imo.

You can put up points over a long sample size when being force fed PP time with the team's top offensive players.

I think they still tend to rush their shots. The way they move the puck, they are getting good looks. I wouldn't mind if they take a good look before shooting

Because every professional goalie is good at being a goalie and that's why it doesn't matter and you shouldn't spend money on it.

I'm a big football fan but I appreciate that in the NHL there's no player like QB where he has ridiculous outsized importance and there are like 3 good ones in the league. That said it sucks that our best player (arguably) is a goalie almost 20 years in a row. And then you see how there's just no advantage to it in games like this. When Mahomes got outplayed by Wilson it was shocking. Shesterkin gets outplayed by an obscure backup and it's just another day in the NHL.

Trocheck has been really good through 2 games. He's playing his position well, defensively sound, pestering forecheck in the offensive zone, and winning shit tons of faceoffs. He and Cuylle look like a terrific match. Both are playing a brand of hockey that we've been clamoring to have for the last several years.

I feel like I say this every year but this might finally be the best D we've had in a really long time. Schneider still sucks but I think as a #6 he's ok. Gus at #5 is friggin fantastic.

Kakko only played more than wheeler vesey Bonino.

Coach knew he smelled kaka out of kakko these two games. He’s going to blow his shot if this continues

Zib and Kreider were not better. Kreider got a flukey goal but had a bad miss too. I've said it before but I'm not sure Kakko will ever have chemistry with Zib and Kreider, their styles are so different.

The Panarin line leaked goals against, which was always the worry with that line.

Too much huffing and puffing and too little brains imo. I blame the new system and people trying too hard. Lots of shots but hardly any quality. Just get shots on net and dig around gets stale fast.
