Ever wondered what a dead heat in a road race looks like?

I was scored as the winner with a difference of 0.000 seconds, essentially meaning the gap at the line was less than one thousandth of a second. For those wondering, I'm in the green/white/dark blue car on the left side of the track.

A place.
Well from that photo, it looks like you lost by a nose.

Literally. It looks like the nose of that other car is just an inch or two further past the center of the finish line.

That's my take on it, too. I guess the actual finish line is few inches further, at the end of the paint, or the transponder is not located at the nose of the car.

Either way, I'll take it.

I've been in a horrible NHL slump over the past month. My defense is worse, my offense is worse, taking too many penalties. Basically every part of my game is horrible right now.

Anyone ever go through slumps like this? Or in other games? I just can't figure it out. Stepped away for more than a week and that didn't help. It's like I forgot how to play overnight.

I definitely go through that in FIFA. The worst is when you're playing online and you KNOW you're better than them, but you just can't piece it together.

Many times in iRacing. Usually, taking a little break helps to clear my head.

I just started playing NHL 15 on the Xbox One a few days ago. The AI is different than I'm used to with NHL 12.. The amount of quality scoring chances the computer gets vs how many shots they take seems to be really lopsided. I'll be dominating all game, take 37 shots (with every other one hitting the crossbar it seems, so that doesn't even count towards the total) and then end up losing 6-5. Computer's shots on goal? Anywhere from 9-17. If I see a pass go across the crease and the computer doesn't score on a far side one-timer, I'm shocked. Seems like my own goalies can't stop a beach ball and the computer's goalies stop BBs. Guess I gotta figure out how the defense is different than NHL 12. Could still handily beat the computer on the hardest difficulty on that.

Yeah, sometimes I like it because it makes it more fun to play competitive games but it gets frustrating as hell and completely ruins your goalie stats. I think one year with the Wild I won maybe 55 games or something but Kuemper had an 80% save percentage or something

I decided to go all Don Cherry/bigboymode on NHL 15 BeAGM. Only one rule, nobody under 6'1 in roster. Will only draft guys above 6'2. Put hitting assist to two notches and DEVASTATE EVERYTHING.

First game, Habs took quick 3-0 after the first period. Injured 4 of their guys in the 2nd period, won game 5-3.

Slapshotmode engaged.

You need a PMB-style, pass-first center feeding you dirty behind-the-back drop-passes. That's your problem.

Yeah, the NHL default sliders are usually royally screwed. I prefer the realistic sim sliders found on OS forums along with the modified rosters. That makes NHL 14 almost playable.

Good to see other people occasionally struggle as well.

I'm actually the same here, I had NHL 12 as my last game until my brother bought 15 (for 360), so I've been playing that this summer. The skating from game to game is what's the hardest thing to adjust to. I actually had a game where I outshot the computer 31-12 or something, and lost because they had 3 goals on 4 shots. I was playing on superstar though.

But it's really the acceleration differences that take the highest adjustment period in my experience.

I also played the X1 version of NHL 15 when it was free through EA Access for one week, and that's actually very different from the 360 version as well. Not even close to feeling the same.

Some of the guys over there put a TON of work into their sliders. Whenever I buy a sports game, I head over there to adjust my sliders.

The sliders I'm using on FIFA make it a COMPLETELY different game.

I think I'm killing it in Be A GM on NHL 15 at the moment.. Before the season started here's all the moves I made with rosters & trade difficulty settings on default:

Tampa Bay gets:

Mikko Koivu (30% retained)
Jason Pominville
Jared Spurgeon
Joni Pitkanen (signing I made just to make the value/cap situation work)

Minnesota gets:

Victor Hedman
Tyler Johnson
Anton Stralman
Alex Killorn
Ondrej Palat

-----

Dallas gets:

Thomas Vanek
Kyle Brodziak

Minnesota gets:

Tyler Seguin

-----

Boston gets:

Matt Cooke

Minnesota gets:

3rd round pick

-----

New Jersey gets:

Keith Ballard
Zack Phillips
<another minimal value prospect I forgot about>

Minnesota gets:

Adam Larsson

-----

Lines:

Parise - Seguin - Johnson
Palat - Granlund - Nino
Zucker - Coyle - Fontaine
Haula - Killorn - Schroeder

Suter - Hedman
Brodin - Larsson
Scandella - Stralman

——

So, obviously super realistic trades. Gained a pick and gave none away.

And I’m damn near the cap floor (though it’s probably gonna bite me when like 75% of my roster needs to be signed within a couple years of each other).

Start with those, and tweak as needed. FIFA has long been criticized among the sim community for being too arcadey. So these sliders are an attempt to slow everything down (hence the run frequency being so low).

Needs more center depth, but that defense is savage. What's Dubnyk's ranked?

Default rating was 81 (when he was with Arizona). Not sure what it was updated to with the most recent (April/playoff) roster patch.

Thanks, will try these!
