Downloaded Splatoon and played for a couple hours after it unlocked last night...lost track of time, didn't get to bed until 2:30 . Nintendo might not have all the online infrastructure quite down yet (I don't really care, but I can see why people were upset about no voice chat) but good lord, I haven't had this much pure fun with an online multiplayer shooter since...****, I honestly can't think of anything. Maybe Halo 2, but that wasn't even close to this addictive, nor was it nearly this original or full of personality. I'm sure it's gonna get passed over in all the end of the year awards in favor of Call of Battlefield 7: Modern Advanced Combat, but that's a damn shame. Best shooter in years.

For real? Thought it didn't really look that great even though I've always been a pretty big Nintendo guy. If I ever buy a Wii U (no Metroid/Zelda + having SSB on 3DS + me getting a little tired of Mario Kart), I guess I'll have to pick it up. The 3D Mario is the only one I really want at the moment but the games have been getting easier and easier.

Last game of my Division 3 Season in FIFA, need a win to avoid relegation (rough season).

I'm Aston Villa, opponent is Liverpool.

I get a goal in the 10th minute, and he quickly ties in the 19th.

Then he gets 3 straight goals in the 25th, 33rd, and 38th minutes to go up 4-1.

I luck out on a goal right before halftime (50+ yard through ball off a corner). 4-2.

Come out guns blazing in the second half in a modified formation, which is basically 4 - 1 - 2 - 3 with the two attacking mids playing very high.

Goals in the 60th, 63rd, 83rd, and 90th minutes to win 6-4.

The last few Mario games they've started to make everything up to the "last boss" fairly easy as they introduce new concepts and mechanics, but then they'll have like half the game come as "bonus levels" after the credits, and IMO that's the real game. They played with that structure a little bit as far back as Super Mario World, but they've really bought into it of late--I think Galaxy 2 was the first, and they've all been that way since. It's a nice compromise because they can really go nuts with the crazy levels without alienating younger (or just worse ) players.

Also, you're gonna hate me for this, but MK8 is far and away the best Mario Kart since 64. It's basically Mario-themed F-Zero. Especially when you jack it up to 200cc and pick Mute City.

Sure and that's the one mario kart I don't have access to since I haven't found the cash to plunk down on a Wii-U.

You know I actually do really want to play MK8 for the 200cc. That looks awesome. They just don't retain my interest very long like they used to. I had forgotten about that, so I'd probably end up buying it still.

I've played most modern Mario games, so I know of the challenge levels. Super Mario World's are awesome. That game is in my top 5 all time. SMG2 had a few difficult levels as well. And I surprising loved SM3D Land for 3DS despite the fact is was very easy until those challenge levels. The game is just plain fun to me.

I guess it's a decent compromise. An entire game of those levels would be insanely fun. Maybe not all of them that hard, just a bunch.

Those are always satisfying wins! I think I'm in Division 4 or 5, but I've been playing my Career lately.

Downloaded Super Punch-Out!! for the SNES on the Wii virtual console on Friday. Haven't played it in probably a decade. Used to play it all the time. Muscle memory is still there, though. Crazy the things you remember. Fun game.

I never played super punchout.

Regular punchout I played the hell out of. I still remember the first part of the final match where you need to just dodge for almost a whole round before you can even try to land blows.

I remember reading about all the various MMC chips they'd put in NES carts and that Punch Out was the ONLY one that used the kind it used specifically because it allowed for giant characters.

All three Punch-Out games are absolute gold. I think Super is the one I played least, but not for any specific reason. IIRC it had really impressive animation for a SNES game. And Next Level absolutely nailed the Wii one, too.

Anyone else playing Witcher 3?

I'm a couple hours in, and I'm blown away by the scope and detail so far. If they can keep this up, I'm going to be playing this for a long, long time.

Yes. . . . and really all I can say is it is stellar. So far, and I'm only, about a dozen hours in so plenty of time for a let down, I'm ready to proclaim this as THE best RPG I've played since BG and BG2 came out so many years ago (and yes, I'm aware they are completely different types of RPG, but RPG none-the-less). The main story has me hooked and it seems to have just as many optional side-quests as the new Dragon Age, the difference being that I was so completely bored by the side-quests in DA after about an hour that I very quickly gave up on it.

Really a fantastic game and recommended to anyone that likes RPG's.

Suddenly, I have too many games to play again.

Witcher 3 is crazy, Splatoon is shockingly adorable, I'm still trying to play Bloodborne (but failing miserably, because I can't seem to git gud).

I've never missed my pre-child days more.

*edit: I forgot about Heroes of the Storm, I'm trying to get into that, too...

Heard that I just picked up The Last of Us Playstation bundle as well as the Order 1886 and The Witcher. I have only played The Witcher so far. Goodbye social life.

Are the Fallout games connected, from game to game?

Meant to play Fallout 3 but never got around to it. The trailer for Fallout 4 looks pretty sweet.

In the sense that they're in the same world and generally the same time period? Yes.

I don't believe they have any carryover characters, though.

Yeah pretty much. I don't know anything about the first two/older expansions but thus far Fallout 3 and New Vegas just carried over a few factions/technology/general things.

No characters or plot points, really. I think Vegas takes place a few years after Fallout 3 and the events of Fallout 3 are mentioned, if I remember right. But outside of that, nothing.

Since Fallout 4 takes place in Boston, I imagine that the same thing applies. General factions/tech/world-building things, but no characters or storyline, I don't think.

Cool. Definitely gonna take a long look at buying Fallout 4

Fallout 1/2 are easily the games I've completed the most amount of times. God in like 2003 I must've completed those games twice a month. With the NMA patch/restoration project those games are even better.
