So, who might join after the first round of the SC? I'm guessing all established players will decline, here is my run down and who likely I think it is that they'll join
Jonas Gustavsson, Detroit Red Wings:
Played in the Olympics, has battled injuries and Sweden already has two goalies on board. Would be chocked if invited, chocked if accepted
Anders Lindbäck, Tampa Bay Lightning:
Sweden already has two goalies on board and he has played poorly so far in the playoffs. Would be surprised if invited/I]
Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers:
Yeah, that's not happening
Jonas Brodin, Minnesota Wild:
Young, didn't play in the Olympics, hasn't played in the NT since before his NHL career, Wild will likely be eliminated. I think is the most likely of them all to join the team.
Jonathan Ericsson, Detroit Red Wings:
Currently injured, so very likely to decline
Nicklas Grossmann, Philadelphia Flyers:
Veteran player, but hasn't played in the NT in a while. I'll put him as a maybe
Erik Gustafsson, Philadelphia Flyers:
Did really well for MÃ¥rts last IHWC, but isn't playing regularly now. Will he be invited?
Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay Lightning:
Veteran who has (unfairly IMO) snubbed from the Olympics. Does he hold a grudge and does he feel fresh? Feels like an almost certainty that he will decline
Niklas Hjalmarsson, Chicago Blackhawks:
Veteran who played in the Olympics, very likely to decline
Niklas Kronwall, Detroit Red Wings:
Veteran who played in the Olympics, very likely to decline
Douglas Murray, Montreal Canadiens:
Murray, on big ice? Scary thought. Would be chocked if invited
Hampus Lindholm, Anaheim Ducks:
He is young and hasn't even played in the senior mens team yet, would be very surprised if he declined. Would also be surprised if he wasn't invited. I suspect the Ducks will go deep though
Patrik Nemeth, Dallas Stars:
Not established enough, will likely not be invited
Johnny Oduya, Chicago Blackhawks:
Veteran who played in the Olympics, very likely to decline
Anton Strålman, New York Rangers:
Here is a player who I think might accept if invited. Didn't play in the Olympics and isn't really established in the NT. I think MÃ¥rts is curious of him as well. Definite possibility if Rangers gets knocked out
Daniel Alfredsson, Detroit Red Wings:
Assuming he is done with NT
Joakim Andersson, Detroit Red Wings:
Not playing regularly, likely not invited
Patrik Berglund, St. Louis Blues:
Currently injured, so very likely to decline
Loui Eriksson, Boston Bruins:
Veteran who has battled injuries, almost a guarantee he will decline
Jesper Fast, New York Rangers:
Will probably accept if invited, but will MÃ¥rts invite him? He is not really an established NHL regular
Johan Franzén, Detroit Red Wings:
Veteran who has battled injuries, missed the Olympics though, so might want some revenge?
Carl Hagelin, New York Rangers:
Played in the Olympics, but still young, might accept invite
Marcus Krüger, Chicago Blackhawks:
Played in the Olympics, but still young, might accept invite
Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado Avalanche:
Played in the Olympics, but still young, might accept invite. I think the Avalanche will advance though
Joakim Nordström, Chicago Blackhawks:
Not playing regularly, will very likely not be invited
Gustav Nyquist, Detroit Red Wings:
Played in the Olympics, but still young, might accept invite
Magnus Pääjärvi, St. Louis Blues:
Questionable if he will be invited, doesn't feel like he adds something the Euro based players can't offer
Mikael Samuelsson, Detroit Red Wings:
His NHL career is over, will not be invited
Jakob Silfverberg, Anaheim Ducks:
Has played in the WC before, was injured this year and played in the Olympics so I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he declined, although I feel he hasn't accomplished enough in the NT and I would be disappointed if he declined.
Alexander Steen, St. Louis Blues:
Veteran who played in the Olympics, very likely to decline
Carl Söderberg, Boston Bruins:
Would be chocked if he accepted an invite after the way he was made an example of by Team Sweden mangement
Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit Red Wings:
Guaranteed decline due to back injury
