I wrote that statement as an answer to your "Ovechkin can't play with NT" statement, not to the 'Ovechkin Vs. younger players' thing, which is a completely different question (I would like to see Antipin, Nich and Kooch too actually).

My first comment was written with too many emotions. I still think that this year we should have gone with the younger players and that anyway Ovechkin is almost always not in the best conditions to shine at the WC.

It's not like you're definitely going to medal, but the likelihood of that happening is very high.

For you to finish in 6th place, you'd have to lose to either Finland AND USA (NHL scrubs/AHL/collegiate players), Germany (missing their entire NHL player base) and/or Switzerland (missing key players).

I don't think that's going to happen.

WC is a short tournament, anything can happen. Last year we lost to France...

I think Kalinin, Yakovlev and Chudinov not be in roster on the opening match of the championship.

I believe he wants to suspend him from his club team for 8 or 9 games starting next season if his injury claim is not substantiated by FHR doctors.
Tretiak claims it is an international rule and that failure to appear once called to the NT carries with it a suspension.

Malykhin been sent home 3 weeks ago, and Prokhorkin week ago was released.
Prokhorkin playing on the wing in national team, he's disliked play on wing, and play not good.
