Rossi had the game tying goal late for Iowa tonight
And Staal the OT winner. Rossi could do well to watch everything he does. So smart and efficient.

Rossi looks good. VG+ with the puck, good decisions, good shot. Gets stifled when faced with physicality, and doesn't have the speed to pull away from determined checkers in the neutral zone. Faceoffs need work, even against AHL level.

Beckman has good/improved wheels, and is otherwise playing reasonably well, but needs more bulk/strength so he can win board and net front battles. I think it's very doable for him, but he needs to really focus this off season. For some, it's easy to gain weight, for others it can be a real fight.

I'd guess that he'd climb the list a little bit if he had played the 30-35 games that most above him have.
Even at 35 games with this PPG he'd be 6th, 8th if you do the same for Benson and Finley. Just pointing out that's quite a team, 92 positive goal differential, next best team is 55. A lot of points for everybody.

Shaw with the Hatty tonight!
4 points. He's a scrappy little dude, with a bit of skill. Quick, rather than fast. Smart. He can play a 4th line role in the NHL right now. Similar to Rau, but more of a bulldog. I would LOVE to see him and Marchand get into it.

I haven’t caught all of his games, but probably the most exciting thing for me watching Rossi this year has been his play at center. That was a question for some scouts, and it was a worry for me at times given the lack of NHL comparables. But, he has really put those questions to doubt for me. He needs to improve greatly at face offs and add strength, but I have no doubt that he can excel as a center.

Absolutely. A natural C. Kinda crap on FO's though. He's got to get serious about those. The rest will come with time, assuming he keeps up with his training regimen(and maybe some time with the Ness's). I would think that having to compete with the likes of Dewar, Shaw, Giroux and Rau(all smaller, somewhat skilled players) can only do him good.

Man, it's too bad Hentges had injury trouble earlier in the season. Wonder if they try to sign him on top of McBain?

Hentges' (or is it s's?) NCAA career reminds me of Vinny Prospal's NHL career. Mediocre one year, awesome the next, rinse, repeat.

That said, I haven't watched him play almost at all, the comment is just going off of stat watching. If the Wild think either guy could contribute at some point in the NHL, I'd hope they'll push to sign them.

Does anyone think we'll let Marshall Warren walk next year? He'll be a senior.
No, I think they'll sign him. The D in Iowa could use some help. ROR will probably be there, too, Hunt, also? Surely Addison will be up? Not so sure if they'll sign FJo ...if they offer him a contract and he turns it down thats a 2nd, so there's that.

why would Warren sign? Get your degree and have all the leverage.

For the same reason McBain would sign. MN can offer him a late season contract, and burn a year. No other team can do that.

First I've heard about Novak taking faceoffs. Grooming him to be a center?

Granted, it’s Wheeler, but we’re waiting on the 5th team for the prospect pool rankings and still no Wild. Think this about where I would have them. Although I am certain when these list were done it would have included Boldy and he’s cemented himself as a NHL player at this point I would think.
