I like when he says about the mission profile they created for the film... "I don't know how I would have planned it any different".
Also, he didn't say "I've literally done 90% of those maneuvers", he said "Everything they did in a plane in that film? I've done myself!"
Correct. Which is why I said, "something like" and then paraphrased, not quoted. ;) The guy in the middle has done a handful of interviews lately and it's possible I got that 90% part from one of the other videos I've watched with him.

I just got back from the new Jurassic Park movie. Seeing the dinos at the movies is always cool. I wasn't a fan of the movie other than that. I'm not a Jeff Goldblum fan though, so that skews my perspective somewhat. I'm also not much of a fan of the series (I really liked Jurassic World).

The wife liked it, but she's a fan of the series. Lots of throwbacks to the earlier movies, that she caught and I didn't.

I've flown 4 times in the past couple of weeks, and every flight has been delayed for at least one hour.

Stranger Things season 4 is intense. I'm four episodes in and this is next-level from what I remember previous seasons.
Just got around to this, and was surprised when it was suddenly offering to play the first episode of the series again. Maybe I'm misremembering but I thought they tended towards fairly conclusive season endings, usually wrapping up most of the storyline(s) even if a few doors were left open.

Oh, I decided to look up how soon the next season comes out, and I guess they held back the final two episodes and will make them available July 1st. Good to know.

I just got "The Definitive TV Western Collection" box that was my late Uncle's. 600 TV episodes, 265 hours, on 48 DvDs (most are double sided). I opened up the box and all the disks seem to be there. There is a small issue though... The only markings of the disks are the collection name, disk #, and Side A/B written on the inner circle. I guess there was a booklet that came with it, but it's missing.

So now I'm sitting looking at 48 (more like 80, because double sided) DvDs laughing. It's like every X-mas present I've ever gotten from him rolled into one. He was slow/special and it was the thought that counted. He was always happy and did his best, but was always completely random.

So now I have a new game. When I'm bored I can just pick a disk and see what I get to watch. There are episodes from 40 different tv shows. lol

If the game winds up sucking, I can confirm that the disc index takes less effort to find than a butthole-wheeled Shrekmobile.

Dear HF,

Go f*** yourselves with that cookie consent selection screen. Make it actually legible without squinting, and give me an easier - or at least a clearly defined - way to deny consent to absolutely everything.

No hyperbole, that's the worst execution of that necessity I've come across so far.

An all purpose meme just for you. =)

My dual monitor desktop at work is about to get upgraded from a 22" widescreen hd monitor and a 17" square monitor to dual 27" widescreen hd monitors. Just dropped them off here so I can install them. :D

Curved or flat monitors?

I do a lot of stuff with images, and the curved screens don't display them as well as the flat ones.

Must be for your onlyfans account, right? :eek3:

I agree flat screen is better for images.

My hearing isn't good, and I've been on a subtitle foreign movie kick lately. So I've been watching English tv/movies with the closed caption on more and more instead of focusing on reading lips.

I ended up turning on a Cosmoball, because it looked mildly entertaining. It ended up being a foreign movie dubbed in English (so no lip reading) and the closed caption (sometimes by a lot) didn't match what was being spoken. It was a complete lost in translation thing that I had to turn off in frustration.

On the bright side I found Iron Sky (moon Nazis) and watched that.

If you like British humor I HIGHY recommend Would I Lie to You and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Most episodes of each can be found on Youtube.

8 out of 10 cats is hilarious. I haven't watched the other one, so I'll check it out.

Mine are dual 29" widescreen curves, and it is a gamechanger for data visualization, hope you like!

What does the curve benefit? iv never had that opportunity to use one at work, always just had dual screen straight flat screens.

The idea was that they will fill up more of your peripheral vision, and the curve sort of wraps around your field of view, and after using both, I do prefer the curve as long as they are larger screens. The curve has better viewing from austere angles and it does feel more immersive to me. But they need to big screen, especially for monitors. Don't get anything under 26", IMO. Small ones have not been noticeably different, but I don't think I will ever go back for working monitors. (Until the next tech comes of course)

I also have a 75" Curved TV near a 55" flat and the curve is noticeably better there as well in terms of viewing angles.

interesting. i always thought the big screens made sense for view points in the house but wasnt sure if it would cut off at certain angles and be a bit of an issue more than a nice feature. curved monitors would be nice for work.
