DoPS has a screw loose.

Benn gets his third fine of the season... second of the series... back-to-back games..!
And they give him yet another fine and pretend it's the max they can do.

February 19, they fine him $5000 when they could have fined him up to $10,000.
May 8, they fine him $5000 when they could have fined him up to $15,000, as a repeat offender.
May 10, they fine him $5000 when they could have fined him up to $15,000, as a repeat offender.

That's $25,000 the NHL pissed away for a player who clearly doesn't care about the fine, and that could be going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund, aka someone who probably very well does care about that money.

The PEAF has lost out on $115,896.74 this year alone because of this bs (over $400k in the past 5 years). The NHLPA should be on this (to support players, player families, alum, and to use punishment as a deterrent) but they clearly only care about not loosening their stars' pockets by even a few pennies.
