So many people seem to have Beecher in Boston next season. My question is for those who had a chance to watch him regularly:

How realistic is this?

I feel my stat-watching is about as valid as those basing their opinion on size and draft pedigree. Which is to say, it really isn’t. I just find it difficult to pencil him in, regardless of how desperate we are.
Last time I checked he was over 60% at the dot
He's strong along the boards
Blocks shots
Strong PKer
His engagement level wanes from game to game
Wish he'd drive to the net more than he does
Hard but inaccurate shot
Hands of a 4th liner...
Bruins might be that desperate
I'm down with Lauko Beecher Hathaway line if need be

I haven't watched him i should start by saying. But with the Bruins up against the cap you need to start using some ELCs in the lineup. I think instead of going out and signing another vet for 1 mil on the 4th line, you might as well see what one of your kids has.

With his speed, Beecher seems like the most plausible, unless they opt to put McLaughlin as C on line 4.

If you're playing around with Cap Friendly the most likely P Bruins to insert in the lineup is
Merkulov Center top 6
McLaughlin 4th line Center/RW or 3rd line RW
Steen 3rd or 4th line RW
Beecher 4th line Center
Bussi
Lorhei is unlikely but if there's one dude that can learn on the fly it's him

Senyshyn? I see a similar scouting report. Some differences sure. But thematically similar.

I guess I worry about the speed of the game and cats like Beecher being able to process fast and accurate enough. Hockey sense.

Does Beecher have a similar concern?

Say what you will about guys like Greg Campbell and Nosek. But even though they didn’t wow with any particular skill aspect and neither possessed the size/skating combo of Beecher… they were always where they needed to be. Heads up players.

Maybe Beecher is that guy too? I ask because I don’t know.

I think his Hockey Sense is miles better than Senyshyn, my biggest issue with Beecher is some nights you need a cattle prod to get him moving ,that's why I want Hathaway on his wing to keep him accountable on a nightly basis

One hopes that he is struggling with consistency as a lot of young players do, and that when he transitions from prospect to young NHLer he will grow in that area of the game. Hathaway would be good for him. Craig Smith would have been great for him.

Isn't Merkulov way to small for center in the NHL? He looked overmatched. Bruins usually want more size I think. I would love it for them to keep him there.

Nice pick up in Arsenault, would still add a couple tough D's and at least one more tweener tough forward.

It is the open question, and tough call. Center is his best position, but is it a position he can actually handle in the NHL?

I had thought the ultimate plan for he and Poitras would be play making wingers while having size in the middle w Zacha Coyle Freddy and Beecher but who knows.

Who knows, I think Merkulov in theory could be a good winger, but accounts are he plays much better at C. Poitras, seems like a pure center.
