Feelings on Locmelis and Bancroft after the weekend would be greatly appreciated thank you

I caught Locmelis in his first game and I was impressed. He’s not afraid to throw the body around despite being on the smaller side (weight wise). He’s kind of a hound and recorded his first professional point after hounding the defenseman, going behind the net and finding Duran out front.

Seems to play with energy as well. I enjoyed focusing on him. Obviously had first game energy as well so will be fun to see him once he’s settled in a bit.

Didn’t notice Bancroft too much that game. It was his pro debut as well. Believe he scored the next game though.

Curious to hear impressions on newbies

Gallagher is doing really well,question will be can he maintain it for 70 something games

Wanner has been decent, he actually carried the puck into the O zone, physical but not sure there's enough upside to make it next level

Schmaltz and Bancroft, so far so good but have to wait till the sugar high wears off

Misyul, looks like an average AHL defender thus far,not sure he's settling in

Noticed Abate has 8 goals in 40 games, that’s not nothing for a 4th liner who is mainly out there to piss people off. Wasn’t it said there was outside interest in him and that is why we signed him to a 2 way deal? Maybe he can become an NHL 4th liner?

Last year was the outside interest thing
I'd say no to the NHL, he's on the bottom line rotation with Harrison, Kuntar, Nelson and sometimes Duran

What does it look like for Merk going forward? RFA- I assume the Bruins qualify him if only to trade him, but to me it doesn't look like he has a future with the big club at this point. If there was ever a time for him to be getting games it's been along with Lysell, and they left him in Providence.

Do you think any other NHL team would have interest? It seems like someone would and it would behoove us to make it work if just to continue our history of being a good option for college free agents.

I tend to doubt it. There are I am sure other teams that wouldn't mind having him on their AHL roster, but I don't really think there is anyone out there looking at him for the NHL level.

I also can't really believe that other kids are looking at the fact that Merkulov isn't good enough for the NHL and holding it against the Bruins

Merkulov is working hard but I get Koko/Sauve vibes from him, don't think he sticks long term and winds up in a european league


Im gonna try to catch the game on friday against hartford and see at least one against the Phantoms, has the playoff schedule come out yet?
