Part of why that is the case is that these short-to-average height, thin prospects pretty much always manage to get up to 165-175 type range by the time they are a threat to make the NHL. We are talking about teenagers here, many of whom have never focused on strength training. I wouldn't worry about it until it is time to worry about it. I guess in Kisakov's case you can worry now to an extent if he is gonna be in the AHL, but in terms of his ability to eventually be effective in the NHL we have at least a couple off seasons for him to slowly and responsibly add weight and strength.I think that's a big part of the gaining weight issue. For a player that's 175 pounds it may not really be necessary. Kisakov at 150 pounds when he was drafted however would have been the lightest player in the NHL. There aren't a ton of players in the NHL below 170 pounds (20 - 30 I think) and even fewer below 160. I think under 160 you can count the players who fit that on 1 hand.
