OT: General College Hockey Talk

I've seen one of these firsthand...

January 2018, Canisius hosting North Dakota at HarborCenter for the very first time. There's a collision near the NoDak bench and all of a sudden, I see one of my (Canisius's) defensemen making a beeline to the Griffs bench, where he's met IMMEDIATELY by the trainer - like, the trainer was about to jump over the dasher board to help him.

I didn't see very much in the way of blood, but word got up to us pretty quickly that it was a skate blade to the neck. They went right down the tunnel, where the EMTs met them. We did not restart the game until we received word that he was in stable condition (and we had to wait for another EMT crew to arrive).

I'll never take an AT staff for granted. They're heroes.

Wasn't paying close attention and kicked on NEU vs. BC while making dinner. Took me until I'd finished browning the chicken to realize the reason I didn't recognize any of the names was that I'd kicked on the women's team. Still... fun first. :D
 
Huglen had a great chance in the third and a last second net drive. 2-2 on a LaCombe last second goal to get it to OT for the Gophers.

Edit - next shift, they almost scored with Snuggerud hitting the post.
 
RIT sweeps Arizona State at ASU 5-1 and 5-3. They've got nothing left on their schedule except bottom half Atlantic Hockey teams. If they can avoid letdown and hot goalies they could put themselves into a position to snag an at large bid (or a non-4 seed line) come tournament time.

That's a quality weekend to go out and take them both from ASU.

Weird to find there is nowhere to watch the Beanpot tonight in the myriad paid streaming services to view hockey.
 
Langenbrunner from Harvard just kicked Benson in the head. I think it's a major. I don't see a player trying to maintain balance, I see someone knowing where the goalie is and getting his leg up (his calf got Benson in the side of the head). Reckless play IMO.

From what I can tell, only NESN tonight. But the final will be on NHL Network nationally next Monday.

They really dropped the ball by not having it available for streaming outside of New England.

Yep, it's a good tournament and without having the pro team in action, this is a nice distraction.
 
BC completes the comeback to tie it at 3, late in the third period. Harvard hasn't had a shot in something like 17 minutes.
