Joe Mixon found not guilty of aggravated menacing.

from espn.com:

Bengals running back Joe Mixon was found not guilty of aggravated menacing, a county judge ruled Thursday.

"The standard of reasonable doubt is the highest standard that we have in our justice system, as it should be," Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Gwen Bender said before issuing her ruling. "After a careful review of all of the evidence presented at trial, including the stipulations and the testimony presented today, I cannot say the city sustained its burden."

Mixon had been accused of pulling a gun on a woman after a road rage incident and saying he should shoot her in the face, but Bender said city prosecutors failed to present enough evidence to prove the misdemeanor aggravated menacing charge.

The alleged incident took place Jan. 21 -- the day before Cincinnati faced the Buffalo Bills in the AFC divisional playoffs.

Mixon's defense attorneys argued the woman, whose name was not disclosed in court, was enraged and was not under the belief that Mixon would cause serious harm, which is the basis of aggravated menacing under Ohio law.

Attorney Merlyn Shiverdecker said the group was happy with Bender's decision. Mixon did not make any statements after the verdict, and his counsel declined interview requests.

"The organization is pleased that this matter is now behind everyone," the Bengals said in a statement, "and we look forward to an exciting season with Joe being an important part of the football team."

More on the Quinn arrest from ESPN:

NFL free agent Robert Quinn was arrested Friday on hit-and-run and assault charges after police say he rammed a pickup truck into four vehicles and smacked a woman across the face before fleeing a residential neighborhood.

Summerville, South Carolina, police took Quinn, 33, into custody and booked him into the Dorchester County jail. Quinn, currently a free agent, has played for multiple NFL teams including the Rams, Dolphins, Cowboys, Bears and Eagles. He has 102 career sacks.

Quinn is charged with one count of third-degree assault and battery, one count of hit-and-run of an attended vehicle, four counts of hit-and-run property damage and one count of striking fixtures adjacent to a highway.

Police responded after 7 p.m. on Tuesday to a neighborhood for reports of multiple hit-and-run collisions, according to an incident report. At the scene, officers observed five vehicles had been struck and one gate was damaged.

One of the vehicle's owners told an officer she was assaulted by the suspect, according to an arrest affidavit.

The suspect fled and was later identified through video footage and a review of records with the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.

They redid his contract, decreasing his pay.
Have until the 4th day of the new league year for 2024 to cut him before his roster bonus of $3 mill becomes guaranteed.

Would be a $8.5 mill cap hit in 2024 or a $2.75 mill dead cap hit if cut, thus saving $5.75 mill of cap to spend on another RB, and from what we saw this past off-season there were solid backs like Sanders who $6.25 mill in AAV. So, can pick up veteran backs for around $5 - $6 mill per year.

Drafted a RB in Brown in the draft.

What was he looking at without the DUI?

If you weren't able to show the court that he was drunk or impaired, I think the only thing would have been something like Felony Reckless Driving which Nevada has, when it results in someone's death.

The sentencing for that is 1-6 years.

The fact that they gave him that deal tells you it was pretty likely they would have killed the tox report. Now I wannw know the details of how the alphabet boys and prospecutors f***ed that up.

More evidence of the power of the Cowboys. Guy plays one season for the Cowboys in the middle of a long NFL career, and TMZ calls him a former Cowboy.
yeah, I noticed that too. 7 years of his career with the Rams and 5 seasons with a mix of 4 other teams. He should be referred to either as a former Ram or Eagle since that was the last team he was on.

I noticed that too when sometimes when talking about a former player not with a team, instead of using an image of the team they were with either the longest or the most recent, they take some random team in the middle of their career and use that image. I mean, plenty of images available for someone to find and use.

Also why are football players arrested seemingly much more frequently than other major sport athletes?

There’s more players on football teams but I don’t think that explains it.

Culture/upbringing and CTE/head injuries maybe
