Been trying to watch more anime this year. So far i have watched: Fate/Zero, FMA:B, Made in Abyss, Toradora and just finished the first season of Attack on Titan yesterday.

And from currently airing i'm following 5: DB Super, Violet Evergarden, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, Pop Team Epic and A Place further than the universe.

I haven't watched much anime, so i have like 20-30 shows i want to watch.

Btw, any suggestions on good action anime? Action anime tends to be my favorite.

Going by stuff that is easily accessible on Crunchyroll I like: Akame ga Kill!, if you don't mind getting into a longer series with great action battles and great characters I highly recommend Hunter x Hunter. Magi is good.

One Punch Man is great but don't think it's on there. People really like My Hero Academia. I'm at the end of season 1 and just procrastinate too much in picking it back up.

Classics like Yu Yu Hakusho and Samurai Champloo. Bleach up until the Soul Society arc ends.

If you don't mind mechs then you have the Gundam series. I've only watched them dubbed though. Same with Code Geass, great show if you like mechs in your shows.

Again if you don't mind the longer series just go straight to Hunter x Hunter and get to any other suggestions after

Toradora is so f***ing good. Own the DVD and the Blu-Ray Collector's Edition.
I've only ever watched Fate/Stay Night. Never got why there are so f***ing many Fate shows. Holy god...
I need to watch Brotherhood as I have the Blu-rays for the whole series. Got them on sale before Funimation fully lost the rights to them.
I still do want to see Made in Abyss and honestly, I never could get into Attack on Titan.
I really, really do need to watch Super as I do love DB, but just haven't gotten around to it.
I like Violet Evergarden, even thought it can be quite slow.

For action animes:
Black Lagoon + Roberta's Blood Trail
Dimension W
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop (I know, this is the best anime ever, but still)
My Hero Academia
Outlaw Star
GATE
Sword Art Online
Seraph of the End
Hellsing Ultimate
Gungrave

I could do more but I was just skimming over my anime list .

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have watched GATE and 1 and a half seasons of Sword Art Online, might have to actually finish the 2nd season at some point.

Fate/Zero was really really good. Made in Abyss is propably in my top 5 animes so far, with FMA:B taking the top spot.

DB Super's last two arcs habe been fantastic imo, and the show is ending soon, so then it is easy to catch up to.

I myself didn't enjoy Toradora that much, though it is good.

Hunter x Hunter is propably the next anime im going to watch, been meaning to watch it for a long while.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Just finished Devilman: Crybaby and wow what a good show. I hope Netflix releases more of these anime that can’t really be shown anywhere but on streaming services.

But seriously, for straight action, I think Black Lagoon ticks every box. Well animated, lots of blood and violence with good characters. Revy is awesome.

Against my better judgement since the beginning, I decided to try and watch the Fullmetal Alchemist live action since it is now on Netflix..

Almost stopped around 10 minutes in. Ended up stopping at about 100. Small issues and big issues with things and what they decided to do. Won't say too much if some people still want to watch it. When it got announced I said it wasn't needed. No one needs to watch this.

I did like two things though. Maes Hughes (thank goodness) and Winry.

Still better than anything Fox ever created when it comes to anime adaptations.

So to bump this thread I finished FMA: Brotherhood. I think you lads know that I was not a fan of the original FMA series, it sucked and didn't even finish it. Well, I decided to give Brotherhood a chance since I now have Crunchyroll and oh man it delivered. The storyline was unbelievable and had so many awesome characters. Some of them were complete and utterly pointless, which took away time from interesting ones such as Hawkeye, Winry, Xingeses, and Lust. Hawkeye was such an interesting character and we find out her back was able to create fire alchemists, but nothing said was about the backstory except that her father put it on and that Mustang burnt it. That was a moment missed and was likewise for other characters. Lust was the easily the best of the Homunculi and succumb to fate her fate in like episode 15. These along with the other characters were points missed.

Furthermore, as I said the story was outstanding and when I was on episode 50 I had no clue what the next episode was going to bring. The producers did a great job putting enough action, intrigue, and a solid enough amount of twists to prevent from predictability. The ending was fairly average and was quite predictable when I finished the show, but up until the ending I had no clue personally what was going to happen. Amazing job here. Some other aspects I didn't like was that the story changed after the ten or so episodes. Within 1 to 9 you get this sense of them living through hell and totally get their mission of trying to recover what equivalent exchange took from them. However, this eventually wears off over time when the stakes get that much higher. I just thought the show didn't know what direction it wanted to go once they started traveling to find info about the philosophers stone. Besides having a depressed sort of "us against the world" in these first ten or so episodes, their travels just change the direction and made it into a pure action anime. Not that was a bad thing, but it loses points for me. Additionally, there is amount of "you're short jokes" I can handle personally and after episode 28 or so it was a complete chore having to watch another one. They do absolutely nothing for me, only when Edward was put into awkward moments with Winry did the characters shine through.

I also don't get the acceptance of Scar just because "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" nonsense. Makes ****ing no sense whatsoever. He is a murderer and deserves to be treated like a murderer, just because the Nazi's had to be defeated doesn't mean that Stalin was this war hero. He actually killed more people than ****ing Hitler did. Both deserved to be punished, so how the story handled Scar was bull. Those are my main complaints for the show. It did a lot good and even though isn't my top 5 or 10 anime of all time, FMA: Brotherhood is a much watch for anyone who likes anime. 8.5/10

Now I got myself watching Food Wars. This show is seriously so stupid and such an over-the-top exaggeration...but it is so damn good. I completely binge watched the first season in like three to four days (which is quite fast for me).

Chihayafuru S3. Finally, YES!

Currently watching the second season of Yowamushi Pedal. There is definitely some hype moments in it that gives me Haikyuu vibes. I'd give it a solid 8/10

Food Wars S4 is schedule for Apr 9, 2018. OVAs are cannon too.
Spring 2018 is looking really good.

I've been constantly on the verge of wanting to make an AMV, even though I've never really ever edited video before. If it's possible, list off some good violent (some really violent) animes that would work with the song below. I have thoughts of Hellsing Ultimate, Under the Dog, Black Lagoon, Gantz and a few others. Let me know.

I haven't seen too many that overly show lots of blood or extra violent for the sake of it and like that, but some off the top of my head that might be good would be Berserk, Claymore, Corpse Party and Elfen Lied.

Man I am severely disappointed that I finished Food Wars with just the OVA's to get caught up with. That had to be one of the most enjoyable shows I've watched since starting RWBY or Your Lie in April for the first time. Glad that season 4 is starting in April, but I am not really that dude who enjoys to wait weekly for a 22 minute episode to be released. I much rather just wait until the season finishes and binge watch it then, but with that said this show might be too good for me to wait until the season 4 is done. 8.8 maybe 9/10 easily; if you like food/cooking this show is for you. Loses just one point for some stereotypical crap like unneeded humongous breasts with girls randomly walking around in swimsuits all show long.

The artist for Food Wars also draws for the adult themed category so he is pretty good at stuff. Loses no points for me it's just the ecchi part of the show. Do not mind.

But yeah, Food Wars is so good. Can't wait for the upcoming season. I miss it.

Black Lagoon
Canaan

Are two of my favorites. Not overly long and just great.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of mech anime but I really enjoyed Eureka 7 and Code Geass as well that I think you would like.

If you are looking for something DBZish that is a ton of action try Bleach.

Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill if you like Gurren Lagann.
Mob Psycho 100.
Baccano.
Stand Alone Complex 1/2.
Not action heavy but nothing last year was better than Land of the Lustrous.
Cowboy Bebop
Evangelion and Gunbuster from when Gainax was cool.
Kekkai Sensen/Blood Blockade Battlefront pretty recently... actually probably just watch Bones shows if you like action stuff. Nobody's consistently animating action better than them atm.

Awesome, just saw Vinland Saga is getting an anime, and no need to worry about the Berserk treatment as WIK Studios (Attack on Titan) is doing it. Probably not coming till 2019 but will be a good bet for anime of the year. The manga can be compared in a lot of ways to Berserk, except it's a historical Viking saga:

As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and thrilled to wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill the band's leader, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Sustaining Thorfinn through his ordeal are his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile westward land, a land without war or slavery... the land Leif called Vinland.

Just finished the last episode of Super. I thought the series was OK but I did enjoy that last fight scene. Other than the movie coming out, seems like they play to take a break for a bit.

It really is the GOAT in every single category. Perfect 10/10 in every way for me. There's been a few people on youtube watching it lately and I get the feels just watching their reactions to it.

All the feels, all the time.

I wish I could give this post multiple likes as I feel exactly this way. It's just perfection in every aspect.
