Yeah you guys are right, I am totally hooked on this show. Been trying to avoid binge watching it, but a couple days I've been watching it nonstop.

Some One Punch rehashes, but as you said @Aladyyn it is not a bad thing by any sense of the imagination.

Anyone watch Juni Taisen on crunchy roll? Ive been watching it along with Black Clover. I’m always a sucker for short battle royale type anime like the fate series.

Bones animators did the best parts of One Punch Man, so yea, you'll see their style in Hero Academia.

Devilman Crybaby out on Netflix. Guy who directed Tatami Galaxy/Ping Pong/Kaiba.

It looks like Netflix kinda... just let him go off on this one.

Watched Your Name the past weekend and finished Boku no Hero.

- Your Name was amazing in every shape and form, the animation is simply unbelievable. I have nothing negative to say about it except some weird elements in the story: 9.5/10.

- Can't wait for My Hero season 3, again fully enjoyed the show. It's not perfect, sort of superficial at times, and Deku suffers from annoying crying parts at times, but everything else was good and the arcs are very interesting such as the Stain arc. 8/10

Now I got my bro's Crunchyroll account and I am going watch Full Metal Panic and FMA: Brotherhood. Funny story, but I didn't know which anime I wanted to watch so I Googled and clicked on this random site where it had a questionnaire. I answered the questions and got Full Metal Panic so going to give it a go. Remember I am was NOT a fan of the original Full Metal Alchemist, but a lot you guys say it is worth chequing out again. Curious question, if I watch Brotherhood, would I need to watch any other movie or OVA to finish the show? If I remember correctly, the first FMA you needed to finish the movie where he goes to World War II to actually finish the show. Anything similar to that or does Brotherhood actually have an ending?

I wouldn't think so. FMA got messed up because they rushed to produce an anime before the manga finished. When the anime caught up to the manga I don't think the latter was even half way through, so it veered off to it's own less satisfying ending. Brotherhood should come to the full and proper conclusion, but it's messed up at the start because they try to rush through the beginning parts which the original anime actually did well.

I don't know if it exists because I never actually watched brotherhood, but there could potentially be an order where you say watch 1-x of the original anime then y-finish of Brotherhood?

First episode of Violet Evergarden is very promising but oh boy is this series going to be controversial after all the hype.

I feel like Violet Evergarden may ruin me. Emotionally I mean. I feel like it's going to be one of those things. I mean, it is the same director as Clannad, Clannad After Story and Air.

Same animation studio but different director. Clannad/Air/Kanon were all written by the same person as well and this isn't him; last I heard that author was waiting for a heart transplant.

Evergarden director did Nichijou and Kyoukai no Kanata.

I also just noticed that Violet Evergarden's director is the key animator for A Silent Voice. That was a gorgeous movie. Goddamn that movie is stellar.

Love my sports anime. Basketball I got Kuroko no Basuke. Baseball is Diamond no Ace. Volleyball is Haikyuu!!. All great and deliver on the feels.

I always scrolled by Yowamushi Pedal and wondered if that could be good.. 50+ episodes in and safe to say I am hooked and enjoying it a lot.

I really enjoyed Yowamushi Pedal, happy it is back on this season.

If you're looking for other good sports shows, The Knight in the Area (Soccer) was decent, although a clear step below the others mentioned. Baby Steps (Tennis) was solid and Major (Baseball) was really good. It takes a different approach than Diamond no Ace, but I binged through the 6 seasons a lot faster than I'd care to admit . It's sequel is coming out next season too.

Watched a bunch of other ones as well, but not as recently (or to completion) or I thought they had way to many issues to recommend to someone

I binged Fate/Apocrypha on Netflix (1st season) two months ago.
Awful, terrible show lacking any redeeming qualities. Fan-fiction level writing throughout.

I don't really get the Fate series. I mean the original and then Zero were good, but overall as a series is it really that good that they just keep rehashing the same thing over and over with often only slight variations? Getting to Apocrypha the series really seems full of itself.

Yeah I got a feeling I will catch up quick but I might slow down so I don't get caught up THAT quick. It'll be tough

I am a bit into Baby Steps already and like that one. Definitely need to get back to watching it.

I do know of Major and at some point was going to watch it. Wish it was on Crunchyroll or something.

All I want is a sequel to Unlimited Blade Works, all these side series is just a waste of time. If you go on CR, they have like nine other ones which I had no clue existed until I randomly came across it. And majority of them are like chibi/worthlessly cute waste of time shows.

What frustrates me is that this is the perfect set-up to have a strong underlying message. Everyone has to have a reason for participating in a death game, and the Noble Phantasms are often metaphoric to the hero, not their literal super powers. UBW tries, it's whatever Shirou spends his screen time ranting about. which imo doesn't work because of the two villains. One has nigh nothing to do with that and the other, while a solid repudiation of Shirou, is too sympathetic and the counterpoint made, too concrete (at least to a North American audience). And Zero is about desire (which makes sense, the MacGuffin is an all powerful wish granter).

But Fate/Apocrypha has no point! It's about nothing. The writer took the general Fate concept and twisted it without thinking what he wanted to represent or say. That may be fixed in Season 2, but I'm not gonna bother, soo....

I will say, re: Fate/Apocrypha that, if I had known Japanese history I would have been impressed by the twist they pull at the end of season one.

re: Fate as a concept, I'd love to see an American adaptation series, or possibly even a movie.

It's manga not anime, but the author of A Silent Voice is currently working in the 'fantasy' genre, with Fumetsu no Anata e:

189781.jpg

It, a mysterious immortal being, is sent to the Earth with no emotions nor identity. However, It is able to take the shape of those around that have a strong impetus.

At first, It is a sphere. Then, It imitates the form of a rock. As the temperature drops and snow falls atop the moss, It inherits the moss. When an injured, lone wolf comes limping by and lays down to die, It takes on the form of the animal. Finally, It gains consciousness and begins to traverse the empty tundra until It meets a boy.

Wish there were more people with this sort of creativity & originality talent working in this industry.
