Pittsburgh is going to lose. We either get another top 15 pick or an unprotected 1st next year. An unprotected first from a team that went 7-9-1 after the deadline and was outed in the play-in round by the 12th best team in the conference

Gun to head, I think I'd still rather have the 1st this year, but it's pretty close.

I would as well. But, I don’t think it’s as big a deal as some others on here. The chance of them still giving us the pick even if it’s top 15 was enough for me.

Up to 10th at worst now with Montreal moving on, right?

Is there any extremely early consensus on how good the '21 draft class will be?

Isn't the Pittsburgh pick guaranteed to be #15? If they don't win the lottery that is. Since they are the best team in these qualifiers.

I'm almost certain that they will keep the pick. I'm sure they are 100% expecting to make the playoffs next year so #15 now will be higher not to mention the value in time (1st round pick is more valuable now than next year).

So really what's going to happen is that Wild fans will be hoping some really bad luck for Pens next season.

I never would've thought that ARI/NSH would be the most exciting game so far.

It will be weak, which is why I still prefer 15 this year.

Also can't help but wonder if JR has taken note of the few teams that have been burned by moving unprotected firsts in the last few years, and would also prefer to give 15 over an unprotected first.

It is so hard for me not to go back to the trade boards and ask the Edmonton fans if they still think Brodin would play on their 3rd pair after watching this disaster. They are so bad in their zone.

It's okay, they'd still say he would anyway. It's been so long since they've had good defense, most of them have no idea what it looks like.

If I was a Pens fan and he gave up this years pick? I would be out of my mind upset.

EDM just doesn't get it. When goalies go to hell they have to play for FLA, EDM, or BUF.
