Glad to see the Klingons are looking normal again after the horrible redesigns of the Kelvin timeline movies and Discovery. I would have been OK with the "human" looking Klingons from the '60s also...I think the eventual explanation was a virus removed the head ridges for awhile? Retconning at it's best.

Kirk and La'an appear to be in modern day Toronto...

Fellow HF'ers...

I'm part of a new wrestling podcast that is starting up on May 11th. A promo piece will be released before then. It's a nostalgia podcast based around the time of the death of the territories and the WWF national expansion. We here in Winnipeg had a unique front row seat for things as we ceased being a part of the AWA territory in January of 1986. A big part of the show is conveying the direct first hand accounts of how people experienced the shows, and changes. In the short time that we've been working on this I've already come across information that has dramatically changed my perceived reality of how all this played out. Whether you're from Winnipeg and had similar experiences or if you lived elsewhere (even better) and watched other things we'd love to hear from you. People with a love of that era of wrestling, a connection to the Saturday Night's Main Event/Clash of the Champions shows, or people who attended live AWA shows in Winnipeg or elsewhere (or any other wrestling) are all encouraged to email

with their stories and recollections. These emails will be incorporated into future shows.
I know wrestling wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I also know there are some pretty big wrestling fans on this board. We'd love to hear from you.

The preview episode of this new show is now available. There is a waiting period for new shows on some of the podcast apps so it doesn't show in all of them yet. But you can listen here for now - Search | Podbean
Check it out if old school wrestling is your thing.

My youngest kid is a huge Megadeth fan (and I must admit its a guilty pleasure of mine - at least Mustaine's first four albums) and so we went to see them last night.

The warm up was ok (BFMV) but Megadeth was great with the encore of Holy Wars and opening with Hangar 18.

Since I haven’t been playing video games for 15 years (except an accursed MMO), should a “new” gamer just supposed to go to Steam and GoG and buy up heavily discounted “classics” with an unlikely chance of ever really playing them all?

If so, then I am doing it right.

Been playing it in most of my free time. It's fantastic.

It's pretty fantastic! However I'm finding the Sky Island training part really, really bright. Even after adjusting my TV settings it's still a bit much. I hope it's just the beginning of the game. I was surprised there were no bright and contrast settings in game, most have that option.

Episode II of the Legendary Wrestling Obsession podcast is out (at least partially) check out SNME II Part 1 the 2nd part will be out on the weekend or sooner. Check it out! Who doesn't love a wedding? Episode III will be a journey back to watching the AWA in Winnipeg in the 70's and 80's and a bit about how we lost them in 1986!

I've done that strategy with my Switch, basically whenever a title I played to death in my younger years goes on sale, I buy it and then it sits for months. I'll eventually get to Final Fantasy 9....

I use Steam solely for two old titles - Lords of Magic, which is a huge nostalgia hit for me but has not aged well, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, which HAS aged well and still has a pretty good competitive scene. I used to do pretty well in weekly online tournaments when it was first out in the early 2000s but I am nowhere near as good now.

I picked up AoE 1: Definitive Edition… no idea when I will get around to it.

My library is filling up with 90s games… even some 80s. Since I haven’t touched modern games (was on WoW), I’m almost immune to the aging thing. It’s kinda interesting to see how some genres have evolved.
