the last goal was weak, he should have had that

the 3rd one, dunno, he never saw it, had like 3 people between him and the shooter, hard to say if he should have had it or not, screen shots are tricky

he looked perfectly fine until that weak 4th goal

Quite the close game... looks like goaltending is the weak link for Team USA. At one point it was 5-4? Horrible- this should have been an easy 6-0 or 7-0 win. USA will not win gold.

did i speak too early when i said he sucked????? he looks shaky and looks like a c league goalie right now.. cant blame the d on the last 2 goals... the real question is are you watching hte game... i can see he is blowing it, cant understand why you dont see it...

To blame anything but the fourth goal on Montoya is ridiculous. How is Montoya supposed to stop two consecutive goals where a streaking forward is allowed free reign of the slot?

Like i said, have a seat.

are you watching the game? or looking at the boxscore\reading the thread? It's pretty clear what the answer to that is.

The defense is the weak link, not the goaltending.

defense is the weak link. montoya hasn't been stellar but he's been good enough.

i agree the US won't win gold unless they really tighten up their game in all aspects

Degensive lapses and weak goaltending here in third. That Lee kid looks scared to death when someone is near him.

And this gentelmen was what it was like in 80's hockey. Still say the 1-1 ties are as fun?

*raises hand*

Too many goals can make a game boring and predictable.

aww man kessel should have burried that, would have been great for him :)

nice presence of mind to set up a shot for someone else after he missed the shot

C'mon you can't tell me you didn't like watching Bure, Gretzky and the like burn up the scoreboard.

I enjoyed Bure more than Gretzky. In Gretzky's prime in the 80's, half the goaltenders in the league back then would have no hope on getting a backup job today. You can say the equipment was smaller, but the goaltenders today are just plain better. Bure's been in the league since goaltending started to improve vastly, thus his goal-scoring skill is better than Gretzky's imo.

However, too many goals in a game can make it predictable. 10 goals in this game...8 coming in the first 7 minutes of the 3rd period. I just don't find that nerve-wracking.

Kessel got an assist in the second period.:handclap:

Brian Lee just got a penalty for holding the stick.

50.31 2 min LEE, Brian Holding the stick.

I am watching the game. Montoya just doesn;t look comfortable out there and the defense is horrid. So, i change what I said before to: the D and the goaltending are the U.S' weak links.

dunno, i think montoya has looked fine for the majority of the game

4 goals against aren't really indicative of his play IMO

I think he's a bit shell shocked here with the two quick goals at start of third. Kind of like the goalie in Slapshot. The defense is horrid and selling him out.

I don't see how you can say the goaltending is weak when 3 of the 4 goals were all but unstoppable. The fourth I'll give you...but to call the goaltending a "weak link" is ridiculous. Patrick Roy wouldn't have stopped those first two shots.

wow kessel with another great move

great curl and drag and then his ankle got slashed pretty wicked...he's hurt, looks pretty painful

would have had an open shot on the net if he hadn't got hacked in the ankle
