For a guy that couldn't crack the RSL and was playing less than 10 minutes in the AHL, you're a little late on trying to control the hype! :lol

Well, the traffic was awful... :lol

oh god....

this doesnt mean thats there a chance that the swiss will get knocked out of the 06 tournament right???? There my favourite pool b team (and second favourite team in the tournament!)

Wow....was'nt expecting this result.....i knew there were some problems but i never saw this coming at all. Let em have it Sandelin................you don't need to beat around the bush or be politically correct in there, and don't forget to let a few screams go and kick a few garbage cans.

the Belarus players really don't look that happy or shocked.. too me it looks liek they really thought they could win and they just went out and did their job.. props to them.

Haven't got to see the whole game yet but unfu**in believalbe!!!!

The Good- Not a whole h*ll of alot!! What so we scored three goals against inferior competition whoo hoo!

The Bad- same old friggen as* story The Defense. They are beyond help

The Ugly-Congratulations Alvero Montoya, it looks like you now have company in net-two ****in sieves-what more could we ask for!!!

WHAT A ****IN DISGRACE!!!!!!

Congrats Belarus! Great effort.

Always nice to see the underdog winning something. They fought hard for this one and... well, sorry for Americans around here, but the Belarussians deserved and wanted it more than the Americans tonight.

Wow its there first win ever at the World Juniors in the round robin.

Had to get that 1st win eventually...hopefully this will wake the US up :banghead:. Only consolation is that Kukushkin scored one of the Belarus goals ;)

A loss or win for Belarus wouldn't have changed the fact that the Swiss would have had to play a relegation game for that distinction. I imagine the 4th place team form pool a plays 5th place from B and vice versa.

Props to Belarus. They just dominated the game physically and shut down the US forwards (really the only plus for this team).

I can certainly see now why Mtl. drafted Katsisyn so high even with the health issues. Well worth the small gamble I think.

One thing I noticed is that early on the USA were getting beat to every puck. After the first couple, it was all downhill.

As for Schneider and Montoya, that was a performance of Saloesque proportions. Just brutal.

The only upside was Kessel and Fritsche who looked good, and Suter who was OK, but the rest of their blueline is just terrible. And if you are an Oiler fan, Schremp didn't have any attitude issues or defensive gaffes and saw more than 5 minutes of ice.

43 shots for Belarus and 25 for the US.

I know the US D is much better than that as well as the goaltending. They need to shake it off and move forward.

Kudos to Belarus.

Congrats to Belarus. A real nice way for Andrei Kostitsyn to remember his last WJC. Great job young man, you and your countrymen played their hearts out!!

US...just win tomorrow and you still win the pool.

Like I said, maybe I was overreacting, but he tends to boast his favorite prospects a whole lot in the WJC threads for example. The thing that bugs me is our tendancy to overhype our own prospects, see the Komisarek example. He was getting bigger than god and I don't want this to happen to Kostitsyn.

Yeah..I understand your point. But it's not like overhyping a player is going to somehow jinx that players developement. Unless they read these threads and start believing the hype....thank god Kostitsyn can't read english. :lol

They have one quality defenseman-Ryan Suter. Why Jack Johnson is not on this team is still a mystery :shakehead

:lol

Yeah ,yeah.Kostitsyn did nothing in this tournament !!!!

They were so physical and they working hard all night long.

They deserve this win. It's showing to people that when you're working so hard , you can win all nights.

For those watching TSN, Gord Miller's reaction to the blooper neutral zone goal was hilarious :joker:

It will be interesting to see how the US rebounds from this setback, most notably Montoya. They say he is a big game goaltender, so maybe they had a hard time getting pumped for a game against Belarus. Nonetheless, they may have lost their bye to the semifinals (not sure how the tiebreaker works, if someone could clear that up, it would be awesome).

Mmmh, do you think Ron Hainsey reads these boards? That would explain his glorious developement... lol
The reason I was talking about our overhyping is more concerning the reputation of habs fans here. In my opinion, our prospects (well some of them) do not get the recognition they deserve because of this tendency to overhype them.
It's perfectly normal to boast your prospects, specially when they have great games, but I think you shouldn't overdo it.
