If Montoya could just stop something .. I still think that USA could win this game ..

Finland came storming back earlier, maybe its just one of those days in the life of the WJC ..
 
A pretty good play by O'Sullivan to knock that down, throw it across to Stafford. Textbook finish by Stafford. I think we'll see the US turn it around in the third. That goal was huge, in my books.
 
Great end to the period by Belarus there.

Even with only like 20-30 seconds left, Belarus came back hard into the US zone and tried to create some scoring chances and pressured hard.

I honestly don't think the US is going to get back in this one.
 
this is just sad, i mean i feel bad for the U.s Players. BUt i'm loving it!!!!
 
Belarus' forchecking is causing the US a ton of trouble. The US are lost in there own zone. They appear to be a very small team, outside of a few guys.
 
Ãs there anyone who can tell me about the belarus goals?
Were they in ,like open net,or did they go just trough the goaltenders?
 
Holy s**t. I feel for Team USA.

This is just one of those days. Having a goalie breakdown like that is so demoralizing. It reminds me of the gold medal game from last year (although this is a much bigger upset).

Hopefully that last goal will re-energize the team in the 3rd.

I must admit that I do find pleasure in seeing this David in the process of slaying Goliath, but I think the US is more than capable of winning this game yet. If Montoya can settle down and shut the door the rest of the way.

Regardless of how this turns out :
Way to go A. Kostitsyn! Way to go Belarus! Good luck USA in the 3rd!

Well one went in from center Ice on a wrist shot ... to give you an indication of the goals..

Lets put it this way I think its fairly safe to say that US goalies will not be on the Tourney all-star team ..
 
VERY impressed with the Belarus style. They aren't laughing it up on the bench like the Swiss were, and they forecheck like crazy.
 
If the US can come back from this, they'll have pulled another Miracle this year.
If Belarus wins... god... the players are going to party like the tournament is already finished.

For the USA fans... if you lose, just remember that in the end of the day, it's a game more important for Belarus than for you... you still have a realistic shot at the gold medal, but for Belarus, a win here could make the difference between staying in Tier 1 or going back in Tier 2 against such worthy opponents like France and Japan.

We all can root for the underdog... yeees, we all can.

Relax dude, relax. He is playing good that's for sure but I don't think it justifies such an enthusiastic reaction. The goalies have been so bad...
 
TSN just said that this game is meaningless to USA. No matter the result today if they win against the Czechs they're in first place. And if they lose against the Czechs but win vs Belarus, they will have a hard time winning the three-way tie. What's for sure is that they should of kept Schneider in goal because the game already went to the crapper with the goal differentials and they should of rested Montoya for winning that one and only game against the Czechs.
