Why change a line that works? I think the Kovalchuk - Datsyuk - Kovalev line works very good, which, I must admit, surprises me!

It's not a bad line I agree, but I like Frolov better than Kovalchuk so far and this would give Datsyuk two scoring wingers that can skate with him and are strong along the boards (good forechecking pressure and corner work). Frolov also goes to the net hard. I'm guessing you're an Ilya fan but I wonder if any team succes would follow with this guy. He wasn't bad, he was actually passing the puck, but there's something in him...hmmm...
Ovechkin and Malkin on the other hand, they will give you many years of outstanding hockey (along with guys like Volchenkov, Tyutin). Lucky you!

I think it's good that we get a "break" against KAZ, before another big game against the US. I think if we win 3-0 or 4-0 the next game and save some energy, we should be fine :)

Finally getting to see the goals on CBC. A lot of hard, accurate shots.

I absolutely love when Ovechkin scores a goal. Some players are annoying with their celebrations as you can tell it's only meant to show up the opposition, but you can tell Ovechkin is just genuinely excited every time he scores. Very refreshing.

Sorry, but he looks like an immature little clown when he does that. Playoffs or elimination games are different.

I guess we could try that against KAZ and see how it works, but I doubt the coach will go for that.

funny how the same people who wanted Krikunov's head yesterday are praising him and his team's effort today.

I'm sure that if Russia played the same game and hit the post instead of scoring, everyone would be saying something like "those arrogant Russians are so selfish and aren't playing like a team, as usual".

well, anyway, good effort today, Nabokov is this team's number ONE goalie.
the Swedish fans shouldn't worry yet.

This game really sucked and Alfredsson together with Ronnie Sundin and Bäckman was our worst players. I don't understand how such a star player as Alfredsson can be so bad. He sucked in world cup, lost pucks everywhere and did it again today and also in the game yesterday. He really do suck.

Coaches can have good and bad days just like players. Russian coach had a better game plan today.

Alfie may have played poorly today, for whatever reason :dunno: but I still think he's one of the greatest players around :)

typical swedish really.

I thought Henrik Lundqvist was dominant on the world circuit... I wouldn't pull him out after this, I would give him another chance to live up to his reputation.

Sure, but he won't be in my eyes until he stop making such terrible misstakes and start doing something useful.

It was not his fault, he could maybe have taken one of the goals. He will bounce back, for sure.

I am still mad at Krikunov for that "bronze is ok" thing.
Get us the gold medal, and all is forgiven :dunce:

I think so too, I was just replying to someone above who wanted to send him home.

Lundqvist was fine.

Have you seen the shots, man?
After all, we have got some of the finest snipers in the world on the tam.

He'll recover.

I never said that.

I'm just kidding. It is just getting a little tiring hearing how great AO is and how bad Illya is. I haven't seen AO do anything more then any other of the great Russian players. What did AO do today that some think he was Russia's best player? Is he a great player? Yes. Russia's best players today. Kovalev and Nabokov.
