I haven't caught many games this year because of school, but the games that I have seen mostly have been boring and I usually just stop watching anyways. I fell asleep during the 3rd period of today's CAN vs. SUI game. I think the quality of hockey isn't as great as it was in Salt Lake. Probably because the schedule is much more compressed here, and the lockout might have affected the play as well. But I agree, this game is worth watching.

Team USA is a lot different than they were 4 years ago...it's really a buffer year between the old guard with the Tkachuks and Modanos and the younger generation with the likes of Cole, Gomez, and DiPietro.

We still had Hull, Roenick, and a goalie who we knew what to expect from in Richter.

Pretty good game. If Slovakia manages to win this, Budaj needs to take his defense out to dinner.

edit: Whoa, DiPietro is looking great right now.

This is sick. I don't get the damn game till 1 PM PT. This is just sad. I'm going to write to NBC and ask them where the demand for women's cross country skiing on the west coast of the US (primarily California where it doesn't snow) is.

Budaj is a bit of shaky but he's getting experience and that's good ;)
Gionta is fearless to hit Chara. Both Gionta and Gaborik has good chances and overall is a good game ;)

Dude. Stay out of the thread, stay off the internet. You want to be suprised right?

wow, very entertaining game!!! endless end to end rushes. awesome!

but, I've noticed that Slovakia is mostly a counter attacking team, and apart from those counter attacks they don't create much danger. prove me wrong

and the Americans are the 2nd most underrated team in this tournament behind Switzerland!

What kind of accent was Hatcher speaking with? He doesn't sound American...weird...

When Doc Emrick and John Davidson get together to call a hockey game I can't think of a better broadcasting team in all of sports.

That's what I love about Gio :yo:

That was an awesome first period, both teams were flying all over the ice. US had a great chance there when Gomer stole the puck from Budaj, too bad it got blocked by the Slovak player. DiPietro has looked great. Budaj is giving up some big rebounds, Slovaks are doing a good job of collapsing around their goalie but the US has to start getting to some of those rebounds.

Anyone else think that Ray Ferrarro's little tirade about the women's team and how Cammi Granato was his wife was just weird?

Agreed, they are great. Who would have thought that a Devils announcer and Rangers announcer could work so well together? Now if only they could lose McGuire...

I found it funny, hey a guy's gotta protect his wife somehow... it's a shame she wasn't on the team.
