Hey, Sweden had 35 minutes of PP. More than half of the game, like come on here. They had a 3-0 lead. If we are going to be brutally honest here? It's not a coin toss at all. If anything, it's a complete disaster to lose such a game.

35 penalty minutes is irrelevant, we had very undisciplined second period. So a disastrous second period for team Finland followed by a disastrous 3rd period for team Sweden. First period was as even as it could have been. 3vs3 by its nature is always a Coinflip. Conclusion: that's the definition of a coinflip game, i don't know why you keep insisting that it wasn't?

Regarding your comment being cocky? You are wrong. I´m humble and I don't think Finland has been that good in this tournament, but the one doesn't exclude the other? Finland were still better than Sweden. If you want to analyze even more? Do you believe Sweden would've been able to turn things around against Jalonens Finland as the finns managed to do? My opinion is no, without hesitating. And why then? Because they've been really good defensively 5v5.

I don't know how to argue with a speculative game which is not going to happen anyway - so i won't. I just think team Sweden had two nailbiter games against Russia and Finland. Well, 3, if you count the Canada game. So i don't know why you keep insisting that they weren't nailbiters?

No disrespect meant with the cockiness comment :thumbu:

Enough with the best on best stuff, yes we'd all like for all the big guns to be there, but they aren't. The NHL chose that. Why must everyone focus on it so much and kowtow to the needs and desires of the NHL? This is just going to lead to another try at the Bettman Cup with these attitudes.

Nail-biters or not. They lost. The way they lost against Finland showed that Team Finland were the better team, simple. Just like Sweden were better back in the days when they managed to turn a 5-1 to a 5-6 win.
It isn't a coin flip to lose a 3-0 lead in the third when you've had an man advantage the whole game and tired out the opponent, not in my world. I would have thought the same thing if Finland were in the same position.
Regarding 3v3, nobody likes it but it is what it is. Sweden and Russia couldn't score but someone needed to write they were the better team... On the other hand? Finland did manage to score at 3v3, doesn't that matter at all? Like why are we even playing then?

If anything, there is a history of a person being cocky in here. I´ll let you read earlier comments and decide yourself. Last but not least, no worries. I didn't get offended because I do believe that description suits another poster a lot better :D

It’s kinda cocky to go around and claim that everyone else is cocky. You gain nothing by doing so.

Just watched the game on replay having come back from the office. What a grind. One moment of skill from Slepyshev and the rest of it rather numbing. Gritsyuk and Nikishin played well which was the only other thing I noticed.

Unlucky. Really really hope Russia win the final. Sad Sweden can’t be there, feels like it would have been deserved after being way better in OT. Only saw OT though.

Beat Finland! Please just beat Finland!
Those sweet tears again?!?! ;;)

No they don’t. Best on best hockey is far more interesting than what this is. It’ll be interesting to see what the tv ratings are per country.
This. I (a Finn) have not watched a single game). Let's see if I can be bothered with the final...

Me neither. I did just watch the shootout at work and got a good giggle out of the slapshot attempt. So perhaps it’s not all meaningless in the end.

what is it with sweden and russia in important games. we can never beat them. we can beat finland, canada, usa, czechia...but never russia

Sweden knew they can't be in the final, they are just not on that level. The better team won today. Two best teams decide who will win it all.

just another day of finns bashing sweden.

this game was even. look at shots. we did not lose a single game so far in 60 min in this tournmament. how can we not be good enough?

nobody is denying that finland has better roster and coach than sweden. but fact is 5 vs 5, the game beetween finland and sweden was EVEN. thought 10 last min finland took over.

please win the gold now. i dont want russia (or canada for that matter) to win golds.

Of course best on best is more interesting?
Doesn’t mean people Don’t care. As soon as sweden has a medal in whatever it’s all over the news. And everybody’s a fan.
Just like Foppa and Salo are remembered for the 94 gold.
