Neither team has been that impressive may the best loser win
To paraphrase the Naked Gun ‘there is a 50-50 chance that either team will come to play, but even then there is only a 10% chance’
Canada usually plays like a team, its their trademark, but have looked weak in all categories besides goaltending.
‘Russia never plays like a team, too individualistic, no goaltending/D’
True, but If this game is to be decided on individual performance rather then team performance Canada gets the short end of the stick.
AO/Kovy/Kovy/Pavel are all capable of being game-breakers and might be the best 4 skill wise on both teams, Russia needs performance from the aforementioned players.
Canada’s D might be big and strong but they are much less effective on the big ice because they are not exactly fast and mobile.
If Canada’s D are forced to take penalties because they can not keep up with the faster Russians special games could determine the game.
Depending on the other quarter results a win might be all for naught for either Canada or Russia.
