It was just another setup episode. Felt rushed as you would expect with only 6 episodes in the final season.

I have a bad feeling the White Walkers will lose and get brushed aside early and the last episode and a half will be about Cersei and her BS.

It’s really the only way they can do it. Army of the dead gets defeated in Episode 3 and then back to the battle for the iron throne in the last three episodes. Be kind of a letdown for it to be done so quickly, but I don’t see any other way. Unless the army of the dead storms right through Winterfell and on to kings landing

Everybody except Jon and Dany had their "oh shit something good happened now they're going to die" moment this week. I'm definitely not ready for next week.

They said the crypt was the safest place so many times that you just know it isn’t going to be safe.

Well, in season 2 when Theon was trapped at Winterfell with the Bolton army outside, Maester Luwin said that there were secret tunnels he could use to escape and go to the wall to take the black.

If you can use those tunnels to get out, you can obviously use those tunnels to get in

My going theory is they lose Winterfell and retreat to the Iron Islands. They didn't mention that just to have a throwaway line. Afterwards, Cersai gets to her turn against the undead hoard except she has absolutely no possible way of winning. It's here where Jon and co rejoin the fight.

I really can't see the White Walkers being defeated before episode 5. It would make the whole showdown extremely anti-climatic.

The ending of the show wont be very well received if it does happen. You dont slowly build a threat up right from the beginning of both the show and books, and then quickly extinguish it. It doesnt really seem like something Martin would write.

Next episode will be about Yara getting her fleet back and heavy focus on Cersei and battle prep. Cliffhanger will be just before the white walkers attack.

The next episode will be the big battle. Sapochnik is the director for episode 3 and we know he directed the battle. He’s also the director for ep 5, which i’m guessing will be the King’s Landing battle.

I was picking up a little somethin' somethin' between Sansa and Theon in tonight's episode

A scene that always stuck in mind as possible foreshadowing was when Theon asked Snow what to do, there was a Throne in the background with Theon looking down at Snow. The way the scene was shot seemed like a hint to something. A new theory I have is Sansa becomes Queen and marries Theon to unite the North.

I'm the only one in this thread who didn't demand an Arya love scene.

I don't know how many people demanded it, but the backlash from people like you shows how strange some people are when it comes to this subject.

It's okay for young men to get some and people always cheer them on when they do, but not for a young woman? I know for a fact people here rooted for Tommen. People need to start living in the 21st century. The actress herself also needed to do this scene so that people didn't see her as a child for the rest of her career. There will be more of them down the line.

The newsflash is that girls grow up into women and when some of them think they're going to die the next day not having had sex before, they want to have sex.

Holy shit next week can’t come soon enough!! What an amazing episode to show all the different sides together getting along on what could be the last night of their lives. This episode will be looked at as one of the best years from now.

Agreed. I think the knighting was one of the best scenes in the entire show.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to seeing what this whole Night King vs 3ER battle is about. My hope was that the White Walkers would be more than just zombies out to kill, and I'm really hoping this is something interesting that gives them (or, specifically, the Night King) more depth.

I also really enjoyed the knighting scene. It was great. Sets up a probable Brienne death
