Maybe, but I'm not at all convinced that Roy will be here next season. If a new GM comes in (please god) he will probably want his own guy. It was a gamble hire by Lou anyway given how long Roy had been away from the NHL (at least as far as coaching is concerned).

I believe the new GM is Roy tbh, the young assistant is well regarded and he could be the coach. I think Lou stays another year with Roy as coach and Roy has influence in roster decisions this off-season.

Yeah but maybe it only takes a 2nd rounder to get someone to take Pageau, maybe a first for Someone to take Lee but in weaker 24 draft your trade off is taking 12 million off the books. I think that’s cost of fixing cap and being able to compete in 24-25.

done to make this team into a playoff team much less a contender in the next few years? The only thing to do is what should have been done at last years deadline and this years deadline and start the firesale and trade everyone outside of Dobson, only way this team will remotely have a chance of being decent in the next decade

i have zero faith in the islanders organization right now. They have lost all their goodwill over the past half decade. What should've been a stretch with free agents has resulted in famine. Nobody is coming here from free agency.
