Hogbwrg should play more
Yup- but my guess is there is zero market for Varly. Old, often injured, avg to below avg and very overpaid for two more years after this one. It was a bad deal when it was signed and looks worse every yearThe aSseT ManAgEMeNt thing to do is trading Varlamov and keeping Hogberg
The Isles control their own fate now. Things are looking good. They will be just fine.Great win, unreal that this is our first 3 game win streak of the year. Not good enough
Just about every team in the east got points tonight too besides Pitt
Pfft nonsense. This team is going deep in the playoffs. They aren’t good enough to be serious playoff threats, nor bad enough for a top-3 pick. Such a familiar place.
Third best save percentage in the league last year. Cut him.Yup- but my guess is there is zero market for Varly. Old, often injured, avg to below avg and very overpaid for two more years after this one. It was a bad deal when it was signed and looks worse every year
Seventh actually and quite the cherry pick. How about this year, or the three before last year? He’s been solid in the past, but is clearly aging, declining and overpaid.Third best save percentage in the league last year. Cut him.
Who is not enjoying a win? Come puck drop I’m locked in ready to enjoy an Islanders game. The sad thing as that many would rather sulk then to enjoy these great wins.
I'll have what she's having. The Isles control their own fate now. Things are looking good. They will be just fine.
I agree regarding the enjoyment part and agree that teams not in contention should generally be trading players like Nelson or Palms, but based on how the East started the season who’s the true contender? It could be by the way the Islanders are playing they would be looking for the same kind of players by the end of the season as well. My thoughts as they have been all season are if the isles have any chance of making the playoffs and any chance of beating good teams you go for it. This is probably the teams best chance before the core gets too old that a rebuild is absolutely necessary. If you can get a better return on those two I would say go for it. I just don’t see that happening. A long rebuild is coming regardless in a couple of years.Who is not enjoying a win? Come puck drop I’m locked in ready to enjoy an Islanders game.
I am also of the belief that nothing good comes from keeping or resigning Palms or Nelson. They both should be traded instead of testing free agency (like Brock has even said) or being resigned to a new contract.
You can do both.
Rags beat Vegas last night too
That is actually very true.....would be interesting to see what could be offered, though pretty sure Lou does not see Lee as someone to move.I'll have what she's having.
If the Isles are deadline sellers and I'm a buyer wanting to win the cup the player to obtain is Anders Lee.
I could understand the pessimism in everyone but in actuality the rebuild that needed to occur was their system of play. The team was in transition. The team is getting old but this system looks pretty damn good and the system alone can make all the difference come playoff time. Special teams have to improve and it doesn’t matter who is on the ice if the PP/PK systems are ineffective.I'll have what she's having.

The mediocrity stemmed from the absolutely abhorrent coaching job those past 4 years not the players on the ice. Rebuild the system not necessarily the roster. Yes they are getting older but the pieces are there to make a solid run at least this year and the farm team is looking pretty good so why worry too much about the future? This team is pathetic. They should still sell and a three game winning streak compared to the last four seasons of mediocrity should not change anyone's mind on selling.
I agree, which also means no way Lou trades Brock if Lou has any hope of the Isles making the playoffs.Brock Nelson looks like he’s ready to go on a scoring binge.
