Why is he backing off of Suzuki? They cross over, he stays with Suzuki and he takes him out of the play.I believe that was Dobson’s man to cover. I’m not surprised.

Dobsons getting traded, this is the hockey trade that’s coming for this team. I have no idea where or for whom but something is coming I think. Why is he backing off of Suzuki? They cross over, he stays with Suzuki and he takes him out of the play.
Except we don’t have the firepower to pull away in close games, and that hurts us on the power play. Nobody but Nelson can snipe and Nelly isn’t that great at it.We’re a top 8 5v5 team, unfortunately the special teams are absolute trash. They’ll probably make the playoffs by a hair and sign Nelson and Palmieri until they’re 50
Incredibly streaky too. Look at that semi break away in OT. Right into the goalieExcept we don’t have the firepower to pull away in close games, and that hurts us on the power play. Nobody but Nelson can snipe and Nelly isn’t that great at it.
I have no problem moving on from Dobson, he’s been terrible, but it would suck to trade him at his lowest valueDobsons getting traded, this is the hockey trade that’s coming for this team. I have no idea where or for whom but something is coming I think.
That's why I wrote the word "attempt". I generally agree but I think you would have to also agree that if he could be moved, now would be the time. He's a big physical presence with nose for the net who has already potted 11 on a poor offensive team. I can think of several teams that could use that, though, yes, the price tag is high. There is nobody in league that is trading for Lee now, he scores 30 goals this year and they could move him in off-season but then again if he scores 30 why trade him with an expiring contract in off-season. There isn’t team in league that’s taking his cap hit rest of this year and next year.
It’s going to be some sort of deal for a guy like Zegras, just as example. They could also attempt to get young forward and a first round pick also which seems like a package that would be reasonable.I have no problem moving on from Dobson, he’s been terrible, but it would suck to trade him at his lowest value
Things to look forward to for the rest of the season:
1. In March Matt Martin might reach 1000 games. 30 more games.
2. In March selling at the trade deadline
3. In April Leafs losing in the first round
4. In May lottery balls
Yes current version would be valuable to any playoff team, he’s also captain of this team and clearly worked hard to change himself which has translated to his play. I think if they are out of it at deadline isles could approach him to see if he would move on to a playoff team. Isles would need to retain salary for sure and probably only would be getting draft picks that aren’t a first so have to see if it’s worth it.That's why I wrote the word "attempt". Yeah, if you give up this year and the next for the retool you can retain on Lee and probably get pretty good value for him. He’s the kind of guy you want in the playoffsThat's why I wrote the word "attempt". I generally agree but I think you would have to also agree that if he could be moved, now would be the time. 1. Might happen. (Which is sad, given that MM should not be on any NHL roster at this point).Things to look forward to for the rest of the season:

Not the wrong guy at all - the bottom six guys are not expected to do much other than not get scored on. Tonight they didn’t - they did their job. Horvat on the other hand does nothing but is paid to do so much more. Holmstrom and Lee looked fine on the top line, Horvat did nothing.
He was crap defensively last year too. He just masked it with a lot of points so the narrative was more about being a 70 point guy.I have no problem moving on from Dobson, he’s been terrible, but it would suck to trade him at his lowest value
One EN goal this season. Geezuz Christ. That's pathetic. He was crap defensively last year too. He just masked it with a lot of points so the narrative was more about being a 70 point guy.
And he’s playing like 23 minutes a night. He’s just become a mess. One EN goal this season. Geezuz Christ. That's pathetic.
They lose 2 out of every 3 games. Tough to win 2 in a row when you play like thatConsecutive wins only once all season.
lets just hope that he keeps it up into next season when he has no term left .If he's smart, and obviously he is not, Lou needs to attempt to trade Lee now. His value will never again be higher than it is at this moment. Of course, that will not happen, Lou, like so many here, he will continue to believe that being a marginal playoff team with zero chance to win a Cup is a laudable goal and well worth continuing to mortgage the future for.
I Was at the game and found Dobson just can get himself to pull the trigger on shots from the middle. He just seems to be in pass first mode. Not a lot to like tonight. Horvat practically invisible, Pageau, not a lot there. 4th line AHL quality.
Yeah...that was rough....why try a drag when you had an open man.....trying too hard....Until that final shift in OT, when he was basically the root of all breakdowns leading to the gamewinner.
