Alberta has the lowest tax bracket in Canada and they are all paid in USD, after conversion they technically make more money in Alberta right now so that is not a good argument. What you believe about Panarin and Tavares is not reality though and you can't prove it, the only thing you could possibly prove is that San Jose offered Tavares 12x7 and he turned it down
Stone nets out $5.636m of his $9.5m, playing in Vegas.

For Gaudreau to net out the same playing in Calgary, he would need an gross income of $10.8m

IMO, Gaudreau does not sign back with Calgary. I'm guessing he signs with an Eastern US team.

Everything that Johnny says appears to be genuine that he loves playing in Calgary and wants to stay .However , I know its just lip service some times with UFA's to-be saying as much but I cant see him wanting to leave Calgary.
I don't know the Flames cap situation enough to know what they would be comfortable with offering for Johhny.
A few variables make it hard to know. Can / will they get rid of Lucic and Monahan's contracts? Both or one at least? Mags needing a hefty raise and Tkachuk and his QA are going to cost ?????
WIll they have to decide on who they keep between Johhny and Tkachuk or can they afford both and Mags raise as well? Hopefully someone with knowkedge on the flames cap situation can chime in .

Will Gaudreau's and Tkachuks playoff performance dictate who they keep or will they try to do whatever they need to , to keep both?

auto correct, I was trying to say conversion. They are paid in USD and living in Canada. So the conversion benefits them
Figured it was a typo.

I understand what you are trying to say but the cost of “stuff” is very close considering the currency exchange. As an example, a vehicle that cost $100k USD in the US would cost $130k CAD in Canada.

There would be next to zero difference in savings for being in Canada from a currency conversion perspective.

Fuel
In an Eastern US state:
$4.30 USD / USg = $5.60 CAD / USg = $1.48 CAD/L

Currently in Alberta:
$1.67 CAD/L

I realize this is just one product but I believe this would be true of most products.

The only big advantage is free health care in Alberta. Not claiming to be an expert on comparing all of the micro economic advantages of each jurisdiction but to be quite honest, cost of living to someone making $10m a year is not that significant. Tax advantages are huge.

11.643 is what Panarin makes, but Panarin is also slightly better IMO
10.903 is what Marner makes, but he's slightly overpaid.

82.000 (10.250 x 8) seems fair to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if he pushes for 11.000
