Value of: Gaudreau for Lindholm?

But the Flames don't need a franchise defender, they need a franchise winger. The reason they might be looking at Trouba (just a guess) is because their two best defenders are left-handed, and one of them is getting older. Going after Trouba would seem reasonable, but putting Lindholm on that team puts one of him, Gio, or Brodie on the 3rd pairing.

We could use some young pure talent on the wings beyond Rakell, but giving up on who could possibly be the best defender to lace 'em up for the Ducks since Nieds just to put some skill on the wings is idiotic.

Once again, both teams say no.

Why not make room for Lindholm then?

What Flames fan ever has called trouba a 1d? He's maybe a 3. And I have yet to see any real flames fan propose for him.

And this is why I thought it was worth a thread. I've seen flames fans in on Trouba. So why not upgrade to Lindholm at this point. We got two pending RFAs who haven't signed Lindholm And Gaudreau. Makes sense in my eyes value for value. If you want a franchise D well here you go.

The flames already have a solid D core with some good prospects coming along, Gaudreau is calgarys superstar and worth the price of admission. He is without a doubt one of the most exciting player to watch in the NHL, you don't give this up for a player you basically already have in Brodie on a much better contract. Cmon guys this proposal is a joke.
 
Who wants Trouba on the flames? Can you link these "flames fans"? What's being offered for Trouba(by the flames fan please?) and literally Johnny Hockey is the only top 6 lw Calgary has, why the F**k would they trade him for a #2 guy like Lind? Or a #3/4 guy like Trouba? We have Brodie for#1 spot and if he's not peaking, Hamilton will have a say in the spot, but not Lindy or Trouba are coming here for a #1 spot, that's crazy talk, I'm sure BT will pull off another stellar trade like he did with Hamilton and when he traded away Russell it was a stellar trade also, Shink was a fair trade, come on you think BT is stupid?

Gaudreau is already a ppg player, he's the best 3 on 3 player in the league, he's been an all star his first 2 years, has won a playoff series and scored 9 points in 11 playoff games as a rookie. Has shown to be able to perform when the lights are the brightest. You don't give up a player like this for a Dman when your team already has an abundance of them. when the #1 LW is arguably already a top 4 if not top 3 player in his position and the Dman isn't in the top 20 seems like a bit of bad value for the flames huh?

Lindholm is a top 10 Dman. How does Gaudreau possibly have a lot more value.
 
Lol.. gaudreau is not close to lindholm. Do ppl realize that top right handed defencemen are more valuable than one dimensional wingers. Why did Hall get traded for larsson? Doubt either team does this. Im shocked at the flames homers saying gaudreau is worth a lot more.

What Gaudreau can do is far more valuable and rare. Hall being traded for Larsson isn't at all relevant, chiefly because the Oilers had a surplus of young forwards and shortage of young defenseman. Gaudreau also outclasses Hall in pretty much every way, I'd actually argue that Larsson is the better player.
 
Wow...there's no way I would trade Gaudreau for Lindholm. I wouldn't trade the kid period. He wants 8 X 8? Ok, fine, let's get on with it.
