What big games has he really played in ?

-He won the OHL finals vs Ekblad/ Scheifele by scoring a goal with under 1 second left in Game 7
- He won OHL playoff MVP
- He was leading NHL in goals during the playoffs until Van was eliminated by Vegas in game 7 of the 2nd round.
- Gold in Ivan Hlinka, Gold in U17

Horvat definitely shows up when in important games.

One has to ask if it matters then if you are not making the playoffs?
What does this even mean? I honestly can't tell.

Are you suggesting it's Horvat's fault they haven't been making the post season? I'm sure that can't be it, because you'd have to be blind to see the moves Benning made and pin that on Horvat.

Or do you just mean that playoff performers just aren't of value if your team is missing?

I mean, that's also a dumb premise - every team's goal is the post season, and if they want to do any damage when they get back in they'll need guys like him.

It's kind of hilarious that so many of the rumblings out of Canucks land are that they probably want to move on from Garland. To get "bigger" and "more gritty" and "faster".

When Garland actually plays far bigger, far faster, and far more gritty than someone like Brock Boeser. With Boeser, that shot is absolutely an x-factor when he's using it effectively. But in terms of toughening up, speeding up, or enbiggening the roster...Boeser ain't it.

The contract situations probably also factor into things though. Garland has a lot of value in that really good value deal. Boeser's contract situation is up in the air, and not necessarily shaping up to be a bargain. So maybe it's just accepting that you're going to get better value for Garland relative to his play...compared to Boeser based on what he can contribute to your own team?

I'm pretty sure Bruins are extremely high on Lysell he's been great since draft. No chance they would give all three of those assets for Horvat or even Miller.
Yes it’s an overpayment but that’s what it would take imo (and I’m not a fan of Horvat). Maybe swap the 1st with a 2nd…if the price is too steep perhaps they can pursue a ufa such as Kadri.
