this season, with scoring up across the league, only 10 RW's reached 30 goals. Your measurements are way off...

only 12 centers reached 80 points.

You missed the part where i talked about youngsters with the potential to do so as well.

Beside that you are correct, this is why i stay put and don't trade at all if nobody like that is available.

Some of the speculations coming out of Vancouver recently don't make a lot of sense. Feels like journalists throwing darts on a board. They have nothing so there are rumours on everyone based on.. I guess reputation of Jimmy Rutherford not being afraid to make bold moves.

Not the direction I would go in but something has to give. Garland is one of the last players on my list to trade for all the reasons the op stated.

This is what also makes him a valuable assets and garner more return from another team.

The Canucks need to make some moves plain and simple and Garland could bring back much needed assets.

is there any universe where the Canucks would value resigning JT Miller so much that they would trade Horvat? or no since Benning is gone

complete speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me if new regime trying to undo the OEL/Garland trade by using Garland as the sweetener to rid of OEL contract. One of the only ways it makes sense to me.

Everything should depend on value and all options should be open IMO.

If the Canucks are moving Horvat, I don't see the point for keeping Miller... Pettersson isn't a center, if we're re-signing Miller its because they somehow think we can win in the next 3ish years and trading away Horvat crushes that. If we're re-signing Miller their keeping Horvat as well, because they will be the 1st and 2nd line centers.

Would be a great replacement for Bergeron. Wonder if a combo of resurgent Debrusk and Carlo get it done, both are cost controlled at ~4 mil

In real life that deal should get it done unless Miller is a sign and trade then Boston would likely need to sweeten the pot but most Canucks fans, like almost all fan bases on here, aren't realistic and would shoot it down.

Just realized that you were probably talking about Horvat so him being 27 and Miller being older complicates things but Carlo, Debrusk + might be a decent starting point but like I said fanbases.

For some reason I thought Petterson was a center. Nvm then

He is a center. Some people think he’s better suited as a winger, but he plays both positions very effectively. Those who say “he isn’t a center” are likely from the same group who said the Sedins weren’t legit 1st line forwards, best to ignore them.

Probably not in that specific situation, but make an offer. Last we heard, Pettersson, Hughes and Demko were the only untouchables.

The fan base is torn on Horvat, he’s such a streaky player

I think Carlo would be a valuable piece in a potential Horvat trade but Debrusk is not needed or desired. I’d suggest something like Carlo, 1st and Lysell.

Peeke and 2023 1st for Boeser?
This isn't "we want a winger", nor is it "we want offense". This is "we want Conor Garland". Boeser isn't an acceptable substitute because he isn't Conor Garland. Miller isn't an acceptable substitute because he isn't Conor Garland. It is only and exclusively about Conor Garland.

Also, I think any offers involving us moving Peeke are the height of insanity and I want to know what the f*** @majormajor was on when he made that suggestion. But that's a debate between Jackets fans. (MM. Hon. Friend. I loved what we saw out of Blankenburg too, but for G-d's sake man... ;) )

I'm pretty sure Bruins are extremely high on Lysell he's been great since draft. No chance they would give all three of those assets for Horvat or even Miller.

What big games has he really played in ?
The guy was an absolute beast in the bubble. Got through the Wild in the play-ins, knocked off the reigning cup champ Blues, and then took Vegas to game 7. Plenty of big games in there.
