Van or Buffalo?
We very well may have won that award in 2017 had it existed.
Can Seattle just say "nah" to a team? That would be hilarious.
Remember how Vegas selected an AHLer who was a pending UFA from us?Can Seattle just say "nah" to a team? That would be hilarious.
i still wonder if laying off of stempniak and nordstrom was part of the van riemdsyk/kruger deals that was never reported. seems odd that they'd pass up on two semi-useful nhlers (stempniak was coming off a 40 point season) for a pending ufa ahler that they didn't sign.Remember how Vegas selected an AHLer who was a pending UFA from us?
Wasn't there a draft pick involved?i still wonder if laying off of stempniak and nordstrom was part of the van riemdsyk/kruger deals that was never reported. seems odd that they'd pass up on two semi-useful nhlers (stempniak was coming off a 40 point season) for a pending ufa ahler that they didn't sign.
there was a second for van riemsdyk and a fifth for kruger...it was essentially one deal split into two because we made vegas pay kruger's $2m signing bonus that wasn't due for a few weeks after the expansion draft. i'm guessing that at least laying off stempniak was part of that package...we may have not cared about nordstrom.Wasn't there a draft pick involved?
Also, we dropped a 2nd rounder for TVR....which might have been part of the broader package.
I kinda always worked under the assumption that it was a multi part deal that we worked out with Vegas ahead of time anyway. At least the TVR part of things. Had forgotten about Krueger's was part of that as well to be honest.i still wonder if laying off of stempniak and nordstrom was part of the van riemdsyk/kruger deals that was never reported. seems odd that they'd pass up on two semi-useful nhlers (stempniak was coming off a 40 point season) for a pending ufa ahler that they didn't sign.
I'm sure that was part of it, but they also had 30 picks to fill out 23 roster spots, and teams sending two players their way with one as payment to take or not take another. You can pick some players to trade, some AHLers, or, to be nice to a team already swinging deals with you, you can essentially pass on your selection.i still wonder if laying off of stempniak and nordstrom was part of the van riemdsyk/kruger deals that was never reported. seems odd that they'd pass up on two semi-useful nhlers (stempniak was coming off a 40 point season) for a pending ufa ahler that they didn't sign.
