I've been playing Wolfenstein X: Hearts of Liberty, a fan-made total conversion for the original Doom. It's pretty much Wolfenstein 3D in the Doom engine, but with big, sprawling maps, more weapon and enemy types and all of the benefits of GZDoom (ex. widescreen and mouselook). It's scratching my itch to mow down Nazis without the simplicity and restrictions of classic Wolf3D. I'm having fun. It's free, of course. You just need to also download GZDoom. I can recommend it if you're a fan of old school shooters.

I bought the Metro Exodus bundle for like $9 during the sale a couple of weeks ago. Turns out, it was the entire Metro series, not just Exodus and the DLCs. Put Exodus on hold and will start from the beginning.

What I played of Exodus so far, I really hope they loosen the reins. There has been A LOT of cut scenes/scripted gameplay in the first hour or so.

I don't really recall the start of Metro Exodus but I know the first area was pretty open. The game was kind of Open area that takes a few hours to clear, linear area that takes a half hour, slightly less open area that takes a few hours to clear, linear area that takes a half hour, even less open area but still kind of open area, quick linear section.

I personally loved Metro Exodus, one of my favorites. Some people didn't like it because they claimed it felt too open and took away from the Metro theme but I'm coming from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. theme and it felt more like a blend between Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

First area is basically a tutorial, introducing characters and getting you up to speed on the story so far. It's more loose and open after that.

I got the Humble Sports bundle and I started playing Tape to Tape, it's a hockey roguelite with some silly arcade power ups but overall the game plays like your retro NHL games. I actually tried the demo a couple of times as they were releasing it building up to launch and I never really cared for it. I wanted to give it another try and I'm glad I did. The released version is way more fluid than the pre-release demos.

I get that, but it seemed unnecessarily long (or extended beyond just the first area). It was also annoying because they'd give you control, but you didn't actually do anything. It was like walk 10 feet and it goes into scripted gameplay again. It wasn't backstory related or teaching you a game mechanic. It was just blue balling you into thinking you were actually going to get to start playing the game.

Metro 2033 is off to a good start, though. Can definitely tell it's a decade old, but enjoyable nonetheless.

MLB The Show, getting tired of it though. Was in the middle of The last of us 1 till MLBTS came out.
How is The Show? I am not a baseball fan, but one of the gaming channels I watch started a franchise mode and the game looks really good. I was thinking of getting a discount on the 22 version instead of buying the 2023 one.

My girlfriend bought me a copy of cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 at a garage sale for like $10. Upgraded it to the PS5 version.

I love this game.

Outside of some truly cringe dialogue, that is.

Its become my ‘podcast game’ of choice. I throw on some hockey podcasts, turn the music and dialogue volume down, and just clear the map of NCPD, Cyberpsychos, Fixer gigs, etc. Ive barely played the main campaign (just got pulled out of the junkyard), but Ive already maxed out street cred and turned myself into a Cyberpunk version of Dirty Harry.

Love the world, the art design, the music, everything. Glad I finally tried it a few years after the disaster launch.

It has its moments. Its not the greatest baseball game but its not horrible. The current edition is 50% off all platforms

I started playing Ghostwire Tokyo after grabbing it cheap from the Humble Choice bundle. It's pretty good. I don't really understand the whole "repetitive combat" complaint when it plays pretty similar to most other shooters these days that don't get the same complaints. Yeah, there's only a few attacks, but it's kind of similar to how many modern FPS games only have a few guns. There's only a few enemy types, just like most modern FPS games.

Maybe it's a different audience type and that's why the complaints are there. Either way, the combat is fun enough. The stealth system works pretty well for what it is. But the story is pretty interesting and the exploration is great. I'm glad I gave it a go despite the complaints. Then again, maybe I just like having something different from the standard cookie cutter AAA title these days.

I dug up my old Heroes of Might and Magic III files and have been playing that for some nostalgia.

Gameplay still holds up to a degree but definitely the troop collecting can be a little burdensome.

I had the Ghostwire demo on my PS4 and was wanting to test it out, but it sort of came across as a "pay to play and pay to win" sort of game and why I deleted it.

Couple of buddies tricked me to buy Diablo IV. Never played any of them. At first was really into it. Then the grind gets overwhelming.

Need to get back to iRacing. Because that's not grindy at all.

I'm playing Fallen Order. I've never played a Souls or Soulslike before. It's not for me.

I picked up Trepang2 since the demo was a ton of fun. I only played about an hour so far but it's an absolute blast. There really aren't that many games that go out there and just focus on game play being as fun as possible. The game play is awesome and it's a ton of fun running around, sliding, and taking out enemies as a super soldier.

I also grabbed a bundle on Fanatical for Hong Kong Massacare. I haven't started it yet but I saw Train Valley 2 in that bundle that looked interesting. I started playing that last night and I'm having a blast so far. It's a pretty simple train management game where you design a railroad network to deliver goods and people to certain stations. It's actually very tricky to try to 5 star everything but I'm just having fun going through it as is, managing a railroad network that I design.

Started playing Matchpoint tennis on GamePass.

Pretty fun and the mechanics are fairly well-implemented... but holy hell are the character models hideous.

Worth a try if you enjoy tennis. I'm in career mode and working my way up.

Playing Final Fantasy XVI but due to my girlfriend wanting to watch my play through, I’ve been playing Elden Ring again in search of platinum. Easily one of my favorite games of all time and always love coming back to it

I'm running through the platinum of Alien Isolation on PS3 now, I have the plat for the PS4 version, I want the PS3 and JP version plats now too! FFXVI, Powerwash Simulator, Tetris Effect, Octopath Traveler 2, Disney Speedstorm, Aliens Dark Descent and Theatrythm Final Bar Line are the others that are taking up my time currently!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - after finishing Tears of the Kingdom I decided to try one from the backlog, have played a couple of hours, other than falling to my death a few more times than I would prefer, the game has been enjoyable so far, a good continuation of where they were with Rise of the Tomb Raider

Super Mario RPG: Armageddon

It is a content/difficulty mod. Wonderfully done, loads of extra content. It suffers from some small balance issues at times in normal mode but overall, tons of fun.
