I'm playing Kingdom Come Deliverance. It's such a proper RPG. It reminds me of playing Ultima, only with amazing graphics. The cities and forests actually look real. I wish other developers (both in NA and Japan) took note of what European companies are doing with RPGs, especially Bethesda and Bioware. Warhorse, Owlcat and Larian have done an incredible job. I wish I could still say CDprojekt red, but we all know why not.

I tried playing this game but after getting about a half hour in I felt like I had no idea what I was doing or supposed to do.

That's strange because the first 5 hours or so are a super long prologue that's mostly on rails and makes you go where you're told. You shouldn't have gotten lost so soon. Maybe you should give it another chance because you must've taken a wrong turn or missed something (like forgetting to look at your quest log or on your map for a quest marker). The game is well worth getting into if you like open world RPGs.

I heard it started off fine and then got boring? Unless it's been engaging throughout?
I like the story, quests, and characters throughout the whole game. Combat is alright but I've only ever played the game on the hardest difficulty (which also adds eating/drinking/sleep mechanics, companions being able to die, and only being able to fast travel back to your ship). The only parts I find boring are having to retread my steps due to not being able to fast travel but the maps are small enough where that isn't much of an issue.

I ask because it's $32 right now on GreenManGaming for the full game and all the DLC for the Steam version. Not sure if it's 100% worth it.

Was bored yesterday and zapped through gamepass. Ended up installing "Destroy all Humans". Looks like a fun game so far. Also does not seem too long (7-8 hours).
Destroy All Humans had a lot of stupid fun in it. A lot of the weapons and voice lines were hilarious. It's probably even shorter than 7-8 hours to be honest.

Finally got around to starting Returnal. Lots of fun so far with the right amount of challenge to go with it.

If you're a fan of RPGs (especially Fallout: New Vegas) I'd say that's worth it. Some people say it's a bit short but the game has replay value with the different choices you can make. It's also on game pass if you have that and want to try it, it just doesn't come with the DLC.

Jumped back into Final Fantasy 14 this past weekend after playing nothing but FromSoft Souls games since October (and not yet beating Elden Ring). FFXIV is definitely a comfort game of mine. I've also seen a few deals on Tales of Arise which has interested me, so I may pull the trigger on that one soon

I started playing Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. I wish I played this before Desperados III. They play mostly the same except for a different setting. The main issue so far is there are some QoL changes they clearly made for Desperados III and I wish I didn't know about lol. Mostly the fast forward button. It can kind of drag waiting and watching enemy patrols in real time instead of hiding somewhere and watching it in fast forward. The other QoL issue is you can't tell a character where to go if they have to climb a ladder or something. You have to tell them to climb the ladder, wait for them to climb, and then tell them the next location they have to go to. In Desperados III, you could just click where you want to go and the characters will climb the ladder if it's in the path and then reach the destination.

It's still a lot of fun though! We'll see which one I like more. While Desperados III has better QoL changes, I do like the setting of Shadow Tactics more. We'll see which story I like more. I already finished the first 4 missions and there's only 13. Would be cool if I can finish the game before the end of the week because I'm going away next week.

I might catch some flak for this but I decided to play bioshock remastered. Never played the series before and I’ll be honest it’s not doing a lot for me at the moment. So far I’ve gotten past the first “level” if you’d like to call it that. I know it’s a pretty heralded game so I want to stick with it, but it takes a lot for me to really get into any type of FPS game for whatever reason.

The atmosphere, choices and story are a few of the most memorable things, so you may appreciate it more as you get further into it. Also, it becomes more fun as you get more weapons, bullet types and plasmids and learn to use them or use them in combination. For example, some enemies are weak to incendiary bullets and fire and one fun combo is to freeze enemies and then smash them with your wrench. It's also fun to lure enemies to water and then electrocute them. Don't go rushing into rooms like you would in most FPSes. Sneak around and see what's ahead of you before it sees you so that you can choose the most effective weapon, bullet type and plasmid. Basically, the more that you play it like a first-person RPG (with stealth and strategy) rather than a typical FPS, the more that I think that you'll get out of it.

There was nothing particularly innovative about the action in Bioshock - it really is more about the personalities of the leadership, unraveling the mystery of what happened, and the general ambience.

I found it pretty compelling - it's really more of a survival horror than a standard shooter.

There was something eerie and unnerving about an entire city frozen in time on New Year's Eve before society collapsed entirely.

Still playing COD Cold War Zombies and Forza 5 (both on pc)

I recently picked up a Samsung G9 Neo, wow. Forza looks amazing!

Beat elden ring on ng+, just 1 more ending to go for the plat. Also playing rocket league and children of morta. RL is my go to casual game and children of morta is cool so far; it feels like diablo 3 mechanically but as a rogue like.

I'm finally playing The Witcher 2 and am pretty disappointed. It's mostly running around to find people, talking to them and watching cutscenes. There's a little combat, but all that you have to do is just mash attack for a minute or two until the next cutscene or dialogue occurs. I haven't yet used a potion, cast a sign in battle or even crafted anything because there's no use. I thought, because people say that The Witcher 3 has such a great open world, that this one would be halfway between that and the on-rails way that The Witcher was, but it feels just as on rails. At first, I imagined that the game was just handholding me because it was early and it would open up after the prologue or first chapter, but I'm now in chapter 3 and nothing has changed. At least the story and world building are good, but the gameplay is just very disappointing. I'll finish it, but I'm mostly on autopilot and ignoring side quests at this point to get through it.

Edit: I finished it and nothing changed (except that I was finally able to craft something useful and use mutagens about 15 minutes before the game ended). Overall, it felt a lot like Dragon Age: Origins, but worse in every way. At least I'm done with it and can eventually move on to The Witcher 3, which sounds like the best game of the series.

I'm not one of those guys that makes quirky, edgy picks, but I think vampire survivors might be my GOTY candidate so far.

Shifting between Assassin's Creed: Origins and The Outer Worlds (Both on game pass) Plan to jump back in Forza Horizon 5 when the expansion drops.
