We have been pumped while being shut-out recently. Stomped by Buffalo earlier, etc...

Are they supposed to apologize for having gone on a nice winning streak and playing better hockey?

I don't get why people want to jump on Mtl...they will be a very good team pretty quick with their prospect pool coming in short order.

Oh, I hate them too. I just don't get pretending that they are awful with no future when they pretty clearly have a lot of young talent that we would love to have on our team.

I was there for the best our rivalry had to offer. It was unreal. I hate that team in the best of ways.

As for what they are right now... Well, I think they're reaching higher than their current roster should be so I expect them to lag down the stretch. Looking forward to them being legit next year/year after. For now, I just want them in our rearview mirror.

Smoked on the scoreboard, pummeled in a 5v5 brawl and the glorious emergence of, "PageauUUUUU!! Pageau! Pageau! PageaUUUUU"

To this day I stand by the fact my buddies and I started that chant.

Montreal is the only team in Quebec, the support from Francophone media and population is justifiable. The leafs are not the only team in Ontario let alone in all of Canada, and yet the media act as if they're the only team in the country that matters.

Nothing in hockey will rival my hatred for the leafs. In soccer the equivalent is PSG.

How can you hate a team that is so soft and weak?

I’ve never seen a franchise spend 35 years looking for 2 forwards that can impact a game over 6’00, and not succeed. Montreal is feckless

Most games I watch on delay so that I can skip all the analyst talk and advertisements. Game is turned off as soon as it's over and only other teams I'd watch are western like the Oilers. It used to be a nightly tradition, but I never watch sports "news" shows like Sports Center anymore and would just watch highlights of games I want to see. Don't have X or much else for social media to be subjected to it other than what's posted here. It's a lot easier now to not be subjected to it other than the odd homer announcer on national broadcasts, but I'm sure most don't actively avoid it as much.

Yeah they do have potential. Many good pieces to build with in Suzuki, Caufield, Hutson, Demidov, Slafkovsky, Guhle, Hage, Beck, Heineman, Engstrom, Fowler...

But the good thing for us is they have many question marks and a very very demanding market that brings an unhealthy pressure. Look at Laine right now, he was a true hero with a huge PP goal streak then people realized he's far from from perfect plus enigmatic and people are slowly turning on him. But they don't even realize how fast they did, he's only on a 6 pointless games streak but you'd think he didn't score in 30 games with the way people talk. That is a HUGE distraction for the coach/team.

Then so many question marks around some young players like Dach and Newhook but also now some prospects like Roy, Reinbacher, Mailloux...

Also, are they going to re-sign Matheson, Armia, Carrier and Evans when their contracts expire? What about Laine? Probably not as of now.

The trend has been momentarily reversed and the object is not as near in the mirror as it appeared just a few weeks ago. It's more Detroit that has been trending in our legs. They do have some pieces with Raymond, Seider, Larkin, DeBrincat, Kasper, Edvinsson and an impressive pool with Sandin-Pellika, Danielson, Buchelnikov, Brandsegg-Nygard, Lombardi, Wallinder, Mazur, Buium, Augustine/Cossa. Paper tells me we should be more worried about Buffalo and Montreal but Columbus and Detroit are actually the ones surging.

I might have underrated the Wings a few weeks ago, they're becoming our biggest threat.

I want them to finish 9-11th in the East every season, not too bad so there's no big changes again and they don't draft high. People are not too pissed but in the end, they come up short.

This season is playing perfectly so far. Hopefully they don't slide too much as they are out of a Top-10 pick right now

Hopefully they play for 0.500 for the rest of the season. Just perfect and it gives a sense of "getting closer" to their management. They need to be Dorionified, even if it's impossible for it to happen as much as it happened to us, there's only one Dorion.

Also, Dustin Wolf is a hero, keeping Calgary away from giving them a top pick.

Nah, I want them to lose so much now that they become clear sellers at the deadline. Make our two remaining games against them after the deadline (there's also one before) as easy as possible.
