I still think O'Connor is going to be plagued with issues regarding his non-existent hockey IQ but you can't deny that he has the tools to have a major impact in a game. His forechecking today was the same kind of impact that Hagelin had, it didn't show up on the scoreboard but he was really noticeable out there.

I still think that 3rd line needs someone who can put the puck in the net. Both Zohorna and Eller look like really cerebral and smart players, but you need someone with some downright natural goal scoring talent to be playing with them. I don't think O'Connor is that. But as of now, they don't really have a better option so there's no need to mess with that line.

I'm hoping that they can make a trade for a 3rd line RWer and end up with this bottom-6:

Zohorna-Eller-Trade
Nieto-O'Connor-Acciari

I’m confused why we are messing with the line that has essentially started to turn around our bottom six’s season. Give DOC and Z ten games. If they continue to work with Eller just let it go.

He’s a great quote too…tells it like it is…

Yeah, I really love him after the game. He’s obviously a media favorite, but he brings a voice we haven’t heard in years.

Can people articulate this for people like myself that got to watch zero seconds of the game? Saw a few posters praising Sully
Instead of having all the defenders low around the net, he returned to having a player high in our zone to try to disrupt their passes…we haven’t done this for many years…

+ Shea is so solid he even makes Ruhwedel look adequate. See what a good partner can do?
Shea worked harder so the excuses to blame him for Ruhwedel's ineptitude would be harder to ignore when evaluating him.

Shea and Ludvig were two that I actually didn't mind Dubas picking up, pending them actually playing over Ruhwedel in the line-up, not with. That part still annoys me a great deal as Ruhwedel is not someone that is deserving of a roster spot even on the worst team in the league (which this team was yesterday in the East, at least, so I guess...yeah).

Shea & Luds both bring something the Pens D lacks, which is any sort of defenseman that isn't afraid to actually use their size to their advantage and not in a smash bam bam kind of way, but to box out players, etc. Sully has never liked Joseph to ever play him in a proper way or to grow him in a proper way with a better partner, not sure why Dubas hasn't dealt him yet to be honest, the kid deserves better and Dubas can add a defenseman better than Ruhwedel (I mean everyone we have in the NHL and WBS are better really) for the right side at least since Rathbone will get Friedman'd.

I'd just get it over with and move Smith & POJ to a team that will use them and get back a pick or another prospect that even an idiot like Sullivan will want to try.

Let me guess, you feel like it's a turning point?

Daniel Stern voice over *But it wasn't a turning point, it got worse, the Penguins would go on to be up and down all season which led to Kyle Dubas making more deals to justify the nonsensical behavior of his coach, Michael Barry Sullivan. They just barely made the playoffs and were swept in the first round*
