Honestly I don't even know if they need that. These guys at the NHL level should be able to beat a goalie clean every now and then.

I think this team is just slow, both due to their system and players, and it's harder to get grade A chances when your team is slow.

They definitely need someone with a penchant for scoring. They're getting shots, but so many of these are from guys who just huck it at the goalie's crest or are from wide open lanes with a goalie able to see it the entire way.

I agree with your latter point though. I've been bitching about the team's steady dumbing down over the years. They -play- slow, as much as they skate slow, maybe more so. That's why I still got a kick out of their absurd, chaotic collapses. At least it was better than the alternative which is boring slopshit hockey with zero identity.

I'm doubting their playoff chances more and more at this point. It's not even that the team is bad, it's just so mid for me to think it can do anything. The core has moments but they can't do it consistently, and anytime the core isn't producing is an automatic loss with the depth and goalies they have.
