Hate to be the one that starts it, but I hope we get Luongo. I'm just tired of seeing all of the rumors, I just want it to happen already.
Ohh god not this again

If it's Theo + pick or something like that I'm all for it
Agreed, I have accepted the fact that if Theo is involved it won't bother me that much.
Doesn't Theo have to okay a trade?
Yes, but I guess we would have to see if that would be a problem.
Just some news I see on twitter...
"steve simmons @simmonssteve
The truth on Luongo: Until the Florida Panthers inform Canucks they have no interest in him, he won't approve a trade to anywhere else."
Okay, so if the Canucks want to move him we'll pretty much steal him like we did with Brian Campbell.
Yup Clemmer is more likely because of Theo wanting to retire a Panther. Probably works out better for Vancouver too since Clemmer is accepting of a backup role anyway.Theo has a NTC. Clemmer makes more sense for us because he's signed for next season and doesn't have a NTC.

Works out better for us too in that if we acquired Luongo (and its a BIG if), then Theo is probably the backup this yr to Luongo and then Markstrom can be the backup next yr.
The only way a deal with Luongo coming back works is if the Canucks are taking salary back. Luongo is paid $6.7M per yr and thats too much IMO for Panthers ownership (from what I have gathered).
I was thinking Upshall or Kopecky goes with Clemmer to Van.Yup Clemmer is more likely because of Theo wanting to retire a Panther. Probably works out better for Vancouver too since Clemmer is accepting of a backup role anyway.

Marek Svatos will be attending camp with the Florida Panters...
Does this mean we will sign him? Decent 3rd/4th liner, would be really nice if he could go back to the point totals he put up with Colorado.
He's basically coming in on a try-out. If he impresses, they will sign him.

Yup, thats the only way the salary part works out. Upshall + Clemmer would move about $4.6M in salary while adding Luongo's $6.7M salary so we add about $2M in real salary. Throw in a 1st rounder and maybe a non top 5 prospect and thats fair value to the Canucks IMO.I was thinking Upshall or Kopecky goes with Clemmer to Van.

I have no interest in him. He hasn't put up decent numbers in almost 5 years.
RR worth a look tho no? we have a spot because of injuries, hes 30, maybe catch lightning in a bottle?
Also he didn't play at all last year. So he's been away from the game for over 18 months.I have no interest in him. He hasn't put up decent numbers in almost 5 years.
