The lines if Wood and Kovalenko end up out...

Colton - Mack - Mikko
Kivi - Mitts - Ritchie
Ivan - Kelly - LOC
Steinburg - Wagner - Some AHL scrub
Kovy is fine, he came back. He’s busting his ass but he’s not a top 6 guy and that’s kinda the problem. Ritchie definitely ain’t. And LOC looks pretty meh. They’re in tough.

LOC looks like he doesn't have anything close to the same burst or mobility he had prior to hip surgery.

Why they gave him that contract extension prior to even seeing how he looks is beyond me.

Speaking of, LOC is a storyline that has flown under the radar. He looks not even remotely close to himself, both in skating ability and in the tryhard he's known for being. Not an encouraging start after being rewarded with that extension.

Can't really blame 4giev when the opponent had Korpisalo lol.

I still would give Kähkönen the next start.

Let’s be honest. We’re not firing Bednar.

Isn’t he in year 1 of a 3 year deal?

And even IF they decided to fire him, I cannot think of a worse time to do it. The new coach ideally creates a spark. Who’s the new coach gonna get a spark out of? Kylington? Steinberg? Kovalenko? Kelly? Ritchie? De Haan?
It would be monumentally stupid to fire him as well. We are missing for top-six wingers, 2D, have terrible goaltending. Even he cant do miracles, as we have seen in his very first season.

Didn't watch beyond the 1st as I had to get up early. Was expecting a closer game but still a loss, and it happened. This team is rolling on the PP but a complete disaster otherwise.

Hey, lets see the positive thing: We stayed under 6 goals against this time...

I would call that a step in the right direction.

Is there any team in professional sports that has half of their team "injured" (or out because of drugs) before the season has even started?......

I don't blame Annunen one bit. He's come out cold as replacement and that's not a good base for evaluation let alone comparison to G's stats. Let him start against the Ducks and if Kähkönen is around sit him on the bench and let 5G eat popcorn.

Hopefully if that's the case changes will be made but Joe is a patient man.

Bottom 5 record by January 1st means "enjoy your summer"... And it will be a long one...

And by the way this shit is going, we are out of any playoff-picture by the end of november...... This team needs to go on a run like Edmonton last season......

And i just dont see this happening. Not with our old friend "injury" back and in full force.

The next 2 games will be crucial to this team. Who would have thought of that only 4 games in.....

The fire Bednar posts are a little weird to me.

If the team was somewhat healthy and playing like this, I’d understand.
It what were icing right now, and not a goalie on the roster that can stop a beach ball, wtf is the next coach gonna do?
Other than a stacked.team Cup he can't get a contending team past the 1st or 2nd round.

I think it's high time he's gone.

I'm curious how annunen feels about these starts for 5G, I mean he's a professional, but he's got to be questioning bednar in this process.
I'm willing to bet the rest of team is also questioning his decision to go with Georgiev. And that probably reflects on the play as well.

I think we are looking at this the wrong way . I dont believe it's Georgiev's fault at all , i think we should be looking at the Dman infront of him .

Hear me out : If the guys infront of Georgiev dont give any shots on goal in a game it will reduce greatly the goals that he will let in. Yes my theory is not perfect and even if the teams gives 0 shots on goal , i'm sure Georgiev will find a way to let 2 or 3 goals in anyway , but we have to try something new at this point .
