Vegas has won a Cup since that game while the Sharks have been the biggest loser franchise in the league. Time to move on.

During the golden years, it felt like we would have control of the puck for ages and outshoot teams 45-17 to lose 3-1. Nowadays, we can't even get 15 seconds of consistent offensive zone time every 5 minutes.

Those Sharks teams subscribed to the belief that quantity of shots was a meaningful statistic, even if the majority of them went straight into the goalie's midsection. They were always hoping for rebounds and redirects, but they lacked snipers. And a star center who had to be begged to shoot the puck.
