Sutter was garbage too, roster was full of slow cement-hands. Clifford on the top line? What is this 2006? Who takes the goaltender out with opponents having full possession of the puck and on attack?

Maybe we should have put King on the top line.

He's a speedster. :sarcasm:

Back to back shutouts. Not even surprised look at the make up of this team. Not even mad. We all know it's gonna be a long season onto the next game.

I wasn't aware Sutter made the roster decisions for this team. Please tell me more. Is DL the coach? When your normal top 6 don't produce it doesn't matter who you put on the lines.

I'm relaxed precisely because I know this isn't a playoff team. Not having a Lucic in front of the net is absolutely killing them.

Lucic was never in front of the net even when they had him. But it's nice that just as I predicted on Friday, we'd all be back on the ledge ready to jump by the end of the weekend. Told everyone we wouldn't win these games. The best the Kings can hope for is .500 hockey until Quick gets back.

Well Sutter decided to dress Nolan, Clifford and Andreoff for a game against the Hawks of all the teams.
And Sutter had lines out there that would only make sense in a casino slot machine..
But hey I am harsh, I mean I should at least clap him for the great work, especially with the great goaltender pull and his forward lines...

i was expecting an 0-9 start with Budaj/Zatkoff/Campbell

so i'm very "happy" with a 4-5 start... however we haven't won a game in regulation time so we aren't too far off from an 0-9 start

Tell me what was todays top6?
I am sorry to hurt your feelings by criticizing a bad on-ice product that was formed and is coached by an even worse performing off ice double.

Who was he suppose to dress?? Nick Shore?

Wow, what an upgrade.

0-5 in regulation. Still the only remaining team without a win. This is why Kopitar has to play all the minutes in OT. Without that extra point, right now the Kings have the 2nd worst record in the league, only ahead of Arizona.

Normally he waits til the Kings have possession for 45 seconds, then lose it, then pulls him only to have an EN scored moments later.

Kings nee Kempe not Mersch.

Did you how slow the Hawks made Dwight King look? Mersch isn't the best skater. Kings need scoring and speed. The only players causing anything today were the fast Kings like Seto, Lewis, and Doughty.

I like how people are extrapolating the performance of everyone from the third game in four nights on the road vs. an opponent who regularly makes us look like crap as the norm while ignoring all the other positives we've seen over the last week.

A lot of teams get their points via OT. 4-5 to close the month out is a lot better than we all expected once Quick went down. Arizona is 2-6.

Plus, people are just using that narrative to cheapen the Kings' performance, like it's lucky that we get that point when really it's the other teams that have been lucky to have been facing ****ing league-worst goaltending those games to get a point vs. us.

Looks like a good game to miss. Shut out again, bugger. We really seem to be missing Gabby. How did the D pairings look without Mcnabb?

Tired, awful. Nothing really 'fit'. Greene wasn't abysmal, or at least if he was, he fit right in...

Looking forward to Gravel, I'm honestly assuming McNabb is out for 6 to 8 weeks if not more given he had xrays last night.

Budaj is playing out of his mind. If he can keep this up he's getting a 1st at the deadline!

Solid game. Tried hard. Nice to see Clifford get some quality ice time and chances.

Also, Hawks fans pointing out it's the best game they've played all season, echoing a few other times we've heard that, so

At the end of the day, Sutter can most definetly tell Dean he needs more skill in the line up, to call up a kid or two. Sutter has made stupid descions like not pulling the goalie sooner or shuffling the lines when needed, but he can't get all the blame. This all falls Dean and his damn loyalty to players.

Back to back with key guys playing big minutes isn't ideal, tack on an injury or two and take into account we were playing chicago, its good it wasn't 10 nil.

I look forward to seeing how Gravel fits (assuming he does get the call up) How do you think the D pairings will line up?

I wonder if Sutter might try loading up Kopis line with Carter on the wing to try and encourage a bit of scoring for the next game. Geez I miss the good old days of rolling Kopi, Carter, Richards and Stoll down the middle with a bulletproof D.
