I like that when Hutson as the puck there's zero hesitation and he zips a pass to a teammate. Unlike Matheson who always seems to hesitate when passing to Slaf for the one timer on the PP (when he actually passes to him that is ) allowing the goalie to get across for usually an easy save.

Lane's hockey acumen is miles ahead of Matheson who relies far more on his athleticism.

For those that have watched almost every shift this season, this isn’t a surprise. The kid has elite elite top 1% hockey iq and other elite kills to go along with that. And he has balls of steel, walking the line on his second nhl shift.

He won’t be perfect defensively but he won’t be a liability. On the road armia broke his stick and went to the bench to get a new one. This lane out of position. He will learn.

Who cares? If you are playing regularly with MacKinnon and you don't put up 90+ points the team is going nowhere.
