This team looked completely dominant during those first three games and then it all just, evaporated. I don’t even know what happened, they just stopped.

Why can’t we have nice things?
This is like the Tampa series all over...dominate two games then shut it down

I mean it’s essentially this. The Rangers do the same thing every PP, every game, and it works or doesn’t. You watch other PP’s - not sure where they rank compared to ours - but you watch Minnesota or Colorado and the players have the chemistry, awareness and ambition to constantly be riffing and improving. Kaprizov and Zuccarello. MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Nichushkin, Makar. They all rotate, there isn’t an obvious plan as much as there is fluid puck movement and pulling opponents out of position to create something.
Exactly

The puck was going in the net the first three games. It hasn't since then. Consider me not worried.

It’s karma. We had a great rebuild going and cut it off too early, not nearly enough forward talent acquired and developed. All cause the owner got impatient and annoyed that Panarin got body slammed. Hockey gods are punishing us for our insolence.

They convinced themselves they’re a contender and are trying to cruise into the playoffs.

He's had some rebound issues, but take away the first goal and Halak's been solid. Especially with the 'defence optional' scheme we seem to be running

Rangers shooters are cold right now, star players are slumping, no doubt about it. Concerning yes, but better in October than in May.

Its also clear that the Rangers don't just get "goalied" every game. Games like these are why I am a HUGE advocate for not just looking at charts but watching the game itself.

Shots and a chart may tell you all this about possession and shots, but a tip untouched near the net like the Isles 2nd goal or a middle of the slot shot (even if weak on Halak) is far more likely to go in than 50% of the Rangers shots they've just thrown at the net.

At what point do you stop blaming a losijg streak on the other teams goalies and look inward? I'd say we're getting close to that point, if not already past it
