Great game to watch, mostly because of the outcome - but I felt they played really well in the 2nd and 3rd, enough to deserve the win.
Having a great goalie always helps in wins like this; Bobrovsky held the fort in the 1st, and allowed the team to come back.

Gotta say, that tying goal was perfect, like it was drawn up on a blackboard: win face-off, get the puck across the ice and gain the zone, perfect drop pass, perfect shot with the screen in front.

I am noticing the team slowly coming into their form.

Nice win last night. Normally that game goes against the Jackets. Foligno was the spark, from his fight going forward. Team definitely responded, or somehow got their legs after that.

Bob is starting this season on a roll reversal from last, great to see.

The crowd last night may have been the smallest I have ever seen at CBJ game. I know- win and they will come.

The Werenski-Jones pairing is refreshing to watch after so many years of so so dmen in the system.

Tuesday night, game 6 of the World Series, night after Halloween.

And don't forget, once OSU football is over attendance per game usually spikes an average of about 2,000+ per game.

Sadly, many Buckeye football fans just can't wrap their heads around hockey till after football season.

Awesome game to be at, of course because of the outcome. But the rust through the first and part of the second was evident. We'll definitely need to be firing on all cylinders for all 3 periods if we're going to beat Montreal.

Crowd of 10,141 is the smallest since Oct. 18, 2011 when #CBJ drew 9,158 also versus Stars.

From Tom reed

Walking up the the arena I witnessed arena employees literally handing out stacks of tickets for free.

2 points and I'm happy. But it was a **** game.

Murray looked slow and rusty. Calvert, Karlsson and Anderson all had one of their weaker games. But that's all transitory I'm sure.

The big deal is that Dubinsky and Jenner still suck. A lot. Wtf happened to those guys? Even Jenner's hits are looking weaker. I wouldn't be surprised if ends up traded. He just might not have a fit with where the team is going. Dubinsky I'm sure is declining physically a bit, but he also can't make a simple play. I think it's got to be mostly mental - "squeezing the stick" and so on. A guy can't lose that much skill that quickly.

Murray definitely wasn't fun to watch.

Karlsson had a great look/shot right in front of the goal in the third I believe - but just couldn't bury it. He's had a couple close ones lately .. shot just isn't there yet it seems.

All of that - except for the ton of scoring chances (they had them). Foligno acted like a REAL captain tonight. I was impressed.

Foligno was awesome.. fight came at a time we needed it too.

I've never understood this phenomenon. OSU football plays once a week. OSU basketball plays twice a week (three times a week in the non-conference season). Yet it's football that keeps people from following the Jackets? I don't get it.

By the way, I say this as a Buckeyes fan.

It's just that during football season they don't follow hockey. It is all Buckeyes all the time 24/7.

I have been a season ticket holder since 2000. After the love affair between the City and the team ended after several seasons in, you could see a trend develop. Attendance would spike higher when OSU football ended. It happens every season. Tuesday crowds will go from 12,000 to 14,000. Other days will increase as well.

The people the CBJ need to get reengaged are the ones not totally invested in OSU football. The ones that are casual sports fans, but ones that will show up if they have a product they feel is worth watching. In other words, if this team would start a winning tradition, and make the play-offs fairly regularly, those people will fill the arena.

On the Spezza goal, it looked like it deflected off of the dmans stick who was reaching to...I dunno? I bet more times than not, if a defenseman doesn't try to get a stick in the firing lane like that, the goalie will make the save because he is set to save that shot, not the shot that get deflected 6 inches from the shot and ends up going a foot higher than the goalie thought

Defensemen put their sticks out with the blade turned at an angle so that (most) pucks that strike the stick get sent up into the rafters, essentially. There was a player'a tribune article where an NHLer talked about Karlsson doing that.

I think Spezza just got some wicked spin on it that helped it find the corner above Bob's shoulder. Shelley I think said something to that effect as well. Spezza's pretty good.
